Show notes 154

Jonny's still in shock from his visit to the autojumble so there aren't proper show notes this week, just the few pictures he took during his weird day out in a damp field. Enjoy.

Those T1N Sprinters are bulletproof, I spent ages looking for a late one to convert to a campervan

Daniel P

Surely the telephone number for the owl sanctuary is 28 28 20. I'll get me carpaccio jacket.

Mark Morgan

Johnny truly captured the content of these pictures in his story! :D

Martijn Koevoets

I like on the sprinter despite having a v12 airbrushed it still has the cdi badge on the grill - nice detail

Mark Baker

George Carlin called them "SBDs" Silent But Deadly...

Andy Pinchock

Johnny mentioned a Henman early in the cast. The true definition of "A Henman" is getting a lob on in a unplanned fashion or context eg - an unexpected semi

Matthew Aves

Never heard red meat ghosting before, I can confirm crop dusting is what the cabin crew at the airline I used to fly for called it. They would choose to ‘dust’ the rude passengers as they went about their duties in the aisles.

Jon Stevens

It started life as Fowl Rescue but then the guy wanted to change direction but couldn’t be fagged changing the sign on the van too much.

Ed Storer

I’m guessing that you could still thieve the hotel lamps if you were prepared to wire them into an ‘ordinary’ plug with a 5A fuse, no?

Ed Storer

Good to know that, should a slipper not be at hand, a Sainbury's bag will suffice.

Brendan McAleer

I’d love one of those 80’s Transits to convert into a Camper. Nice and simple engine, no modern systems to bugger up, and it’ll happily run on used veg oil otsot

Adam

Good song though!

Adam

More retro grot probably 🤣

Adam

Chenille Armchair sounds like a Chinese astronaut.

Tom Benton

Absolutly brilliant. Just listened to it for a second time.

will beresford

Got to be said, the shittest WHOO from the 80s belonged to Billy Idol, towards the end of White Wedding. Check it out at the 3:09 mark: https://youtu.be/AAZQaYKZMTI?t=182

Since Jonny painted such a vivid picture of this incredible event I thought I’d try illustrating it! https://twitter.com/calumraasay/status/1645433423039811584?s=46&t=xgg8LJalIThO7Z-f0peo3Q

Calum Gillies

Yes, rated at 2 or 5amps. So shaped to stop you plugging in 13amp appliances and blowing the circuit.

Giant Iain

listen to it twice!

Ed Haszard Morris

Loving the comedy skeleton in the soho girls van 😂

René Soufflé

Looks more like an autogrumble from that first pic.

Kaiser Ed

I'm trying to work out what's in the box that the antique grot merchant is selling.

Dave Law

I wonder if a letter peeled off the Fiat van, it's actually used for dowl rescue. The driver picking up discarded dowl rods from soon to be binned old flat pack furniture.

John Hammond

This comment reminded me of this classic episode when Jonny share his scrapbook https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Afvqwtlwe5c

Stephen Voss

Possibly one of your best ever podcasts, the painting pictures with words is strong on this 🤣

Nigel Hancock

A fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilth of Traaaaaaaaaaansits ;-)

Richard Gledhill

Why is this set of random images exactly the set of random images you'd expect Jonny to take at an auto jumble? (And by that I mean they are so random that no one else would think to take the pictures in the first place, or share them, but it's a perfectly reasonable thing because Jonny did it) 🤣👍

Dibz

Traaaaaansits…. What’s the noun for a collective of Traaaaansits? 😂

Richard Allen

Round plugs - would typically be on a lighting circuit to be activated by a light switch, rather than always being on.

William Moses

Ive not yet listened to this episode. Based on the images it seems like it may be rather unhinged.

Toby Barron

To save the episode for my long drive next week or early morning with dog. Decisions.

Robin White

Oooh, what was in the 'Adult Only' boxfile, Jonny?
