2023-02-27 11:02:47 +0000 UTCJust caught up with your 2023 spec podcast and wanted to share that when I worked in a video store chain in Brighton, I would regularly play the Christmas CD in the middle of Summer. Worth it just for the befuddlement of punters looking for too shelf grot!

2023-01-14 09:22:25 +0000 UTCI was hoping for the quote 'Bronchos are shit' so I could tell the story of a former colleague whose Christmas was ruined a few years back by an online paedo hunter who turned up at their family home to callout this guys brother for various online misdemeanours. My colleague was videoed chasing this guy down the street whilst proudly wearing his 'Denver Bronchos' football shirt. When it was circulated all over Facebook one comment left by somebody simply said "well the Bronchos are shit anyway". It caused such amusement at work that even 4 years later, this comment is still used as a deflection when a big issue pops up.

2023-01-09 12:06:47 +0000 UTCThe old lady with the 2 Escorts reminded me of my grandfather. He had 2 FIAT 126s - one was the ‘work’ car - he was a marine surveyor and this one would pick up all the sea spray etc from going to docks to inspect ships - and the other was for Sundays and family outings. He traded them both in for a Peugeot 305 in metallic blue with blue vinyl seats. He lived in Malta. Poor choice of interior.

2023-01-09 11:51:57 +0000 UTCStraight piped moped guy! There's one who commutes between Sunderland and South Shields every day at the same time. Sometimes lines up with my bus route between the two areas, and he's so slow that my stopping bus service takes about the same time as him absolutely flat the whole way. Fair play to him.

2023-01-08 21:52:41 +0000 UTCThat was a lot of actual automotive-related discussion for one podcast, people are going to be upset! OTSOT, "you're all set" is pretty common here in Canada too. F-150 Lightnings are certainly selling well, the Ford dealership I work at in the Toronto area has had no trouble moving every one that we can get our hands on. And I will come to the defense of the Bronco Sport which shares a platform with an Escape / Kuga. Having had several now as work demos, including my current ride which is a top-spec Badlands Edition (presently on silver painted Maverick steelies with winter boots), I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy driving them. Yes the shape and proportions don't hit quite the same as the big Bronco, but I think they are a handsome vehicle and are a useful size with plenty of room inside, especially headroom. I've had present gen Escapes for demos as well and the engineers have managed to give the wee Bronco a distinct more truck-like solid feel with the chassis tuning, hard to describe but back to back they do certainly have a different character.

2023-01-08 20:43:18 +0000 UTCOn That Side Of Straight Pipe Mopeds, I was 16 in 1980 and most of my friends had APs, Fizzies etc. My dad had ridden a Raleigh runabout for years and insisted on me getting a new Peugeot 103 SP step-through. Good daily rider with luggage rack but not cool. A friend had an old Puch Maxi and we decided to go for a "ride out". As we left our road, the Puch decided to spit out its exhaust baffles. I was behind so the "missile" narrowly missed taking me out. Safe to say the 50cc wreck soon sounded like a Harley!

2023-01-08 20:17:44 +0000 UTCI thought about trying to fight the corner of the P38 Range Rover but I can't really. The equivalent age Disco 2 in full V8 luxury spec was less luxurious but I would argue a better car, I miss mine. New merch looks great.

2023-01-08 19:35:10 +0000 UTCMy mates first gen ML burned to the ground on his drive. Catastrophic electrical failure torched the car while he slept. `Bad for him and bad for me, I was retained fire fighter and had to attend. it seems the fag lighter arced and caused an internal cabin fire. Fuck me, took ages to put out. And it was doom blue
