Hello again. In pictures this week we have the amazing JDM VeilSide jacket (Jonny couldn't find pics of the jeans) followed by the Top Gear presenters in the ‘00s being an advert for the bootcut (or maybe an advert against the bootcut). Then there’s the BMW XM, the Ford Flex, the stereo with dolphins on the display and the Queen’s Jaguar hearse. Finally, some shifters from, in order, the Caterham 7, the Mercedes CLK GTR, and listener George’s Mercedes butter churner followed by some sizeable Kei car knobs. Now some links…

Smokey's A1 endeavours reminded me of the iconic Liver Run on Police Camera Action. Maybe it's just the low res... Surely this has been covered in one of your episodes? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Arhv-kyUyC8 (caution SD1 content)

Funkycoldribena

Hello chaps. You may enjoy this you tube clip of DJ Khaled really 'connecting' with a crowd. Cringetastic! https://youtu.be/m4KSUp0Nh18

Completely agree if you see an I20 N in the wild it looks great and often give an approving nod to the driver. However not sure the colour scheme translates to; Headphones and pens - https://hyundai-collection.com/en/n-collection/ Blankets - https://www.redbubble.com/i/throw-blanket/N-Performance-Logo-by-IssKa/97163997.16D0B?country_code=GB&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1vSZBhDuARIsAKZlijQ8QmWOz095Xbdt9CevBfQNZfbjsRW3zH7efDPPkCslxRyIgzTs0eAaAqOUEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Flight case - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIwbFwItsXU

I've gotten really into that dead whale with veins colour scheme on the N cars. It's an odd choice but I think they've nailed it and produced quite an iconic look.

Rupert Procter

Whilst travelling to location listening to HYUNDAI N eurobeat playlist all kit needs to be stowed in official HYUNDAI N PELI CASE https://www.instagram.com/p/CfGTVY-gvlA/?hl=en Fetching. What else would look good in toothpaste blue with a hint of red? Tuppaware? Duvet cover? Toaster? Jeans?

Robert Wootton

I started listening to Ogmios and I forgot about the podcast. That was a self inflicted wound boys 😂

JTonCars

The Hyundai playlist is epic. They must be listening to it in the car as well, only explanation for overtaking Mercedes and Porsches around the Nordschliefe in a Hyundai!!!

Tim Lewis

I still wear bootcuts 😐

Termu

Will Richard still have his wife?

Thom Gidman

Think I may have just had a heart attack listening to the Eurobeat Playlist. Holy smokes Hyundai, it should come with a health warning!

Thom Gidman

In the next episode: Will Richard still have his secretly bought Panda 100 hp ? Will Jonny have recovered all of his house belongings from the Lincolnshire hedgerows?

Steve Morton

I chucked one of those headunits out when clearing out my parents garage a few weeks back. It was originally installed in a 99 Peugeot 306.

Dean Hempshall

Alice Cooper was once a guest on Test Match Special. Geoffrey Boycott was getting wound up nicely about this amazing singer who had come over from America to meet him. Geoffrey, this is Alice. https://youtu.be/U76Nde6rMTw Don't ask me about Frank Zappa and cricket.

John P

That Top Secret Supra video was incredible. Don't think you could do 197 mph on a UK motorway these days they're pretty busy even at 3am. Also, that coach, I can't tell you anything about pre-selectors or what the driver was actually doing but I know that it's a steering wheel from a Scania.

Dean

autoscribe74

It’s like a litmus test whether you’re more enthralled by that coach driver or the RUF Yellowbird!

Jim Galbraith

I am obsessed and it’s barely been 48 hours. “Scooter boys - they think they are invincible just because they are from the future !”

AL Dickens

The late 80s Subaru XT had an unusual gear shifter (more cobra than choad). Seemed to be very similar for manual and auto as well (just with a button in the top for the auto).

Stephen Archer

I was going to say the coach driver looks a bit like Michael Barrymore

Stuart Richards

Alice Cooper was born in Detroit, so of course he's a car guy. A friend's dad lives next to him in Arizona. (pls read as Arizonia in the manner of Matt Berry) He has some usual suspects stuff: Hellcat, '68 Mustang, Corvette. But his coolest machine is a 1963 Studebaker Avanti, white with a turquoise interior. He tells a story that the car was at a shop getting worked on and a retired FBI agent claimed that he'd nabbed a KGB agent driving it, back in the 1960s. Cooper was tickled enough by the yarn to put in a hidden push-button tray that springs out, big enough for a Walter PPK. He also owned a stock car racing team.

Brendan McAleer

My mate had one of those Pioneer Head Unit's in his car. It was part of a sound system that cost pretty much equal to the actual worth of his Venetian Green 1.5 306 HDI. I, of course, went with the Kenwood MASK KDC-PSW9521 (if I've got my numbers right), that had an automated flip-front facia. Of course, my Red M Reg 1.2l Clio Oasis was worth every penny of the £1.5k+ of car audio I'd fitted into it!

Matthew Kemp

I used to have/might still have one of those pioneer head units also had one that had a scene like top gun and it was definitely pioneer.

iain leake

Some serious brownie points required to recover the situation now!

Ross Hetherington

Is Rob Birch of the Stereo MCs the most no name mountain bike man still (somewhat) alive? Richard's 'skeletal face' quip immediately made me think of Rob.

Dave Law

I felt some serious second-hand anxiety over your second-hand Panda. Definitely in "you bought this _how long_ ago?" territory now. Good luck and if it's just Smith next week we'll understand.

Ben Oliver

So what happens with the Jag Hearse now? I dont imagine it will be used again and i cant see it being sold on so does it just get tucked away somewhere secret? I really am fascinated by the Royal fleet. There seems to be so little information about it!

Mat Guest

I noticed something interesting about The Queen's Hearse - usually with the Wilcox Jag Hearse, the rear doors are just normal doors, allowing access to the coffin towards the front of the car. With 'er Maj's Hearse, those doors are rear hinged, opening in the "suicide" fashion. Her's seems to be the only Wilcox which has this.

Richard Major

Can I make a slightly queer request? Yes? Thanks. Jonny has quite a phlegmy / viscus mouth and nose. My life would be significantly improved if perhaps he could cut out all dairy on the day of recording, and perhaps move his microphone slightly further away from his mouth? Also some listerine before recording can help. Please? This was weird, wasn't it? Sorry.

Richard Major

Hahahah Ogmios! Excellent 👏🏻

Jonathan Knight

The bus driver is amazing! Its almost as if his hand is a separate entity from his body. At times it places the shifter, swoops up and stops above to make sure it is happy with the placement, then relaxes.

Ben Fitch

It's funny when you've been on the Ogmios bandwagon for over 2 years and there are still people totally unaware of his amazing videos. Scooter boys and Purin dancing for the win :)

Mark Elliott

Can imagine this conversation in the design studio: "Although we've got rid of the curves it's not ugly enough, maybe if we add some misshaped brightwork around the windows?"

Robin Capper

Have they lost their French Curves in the BMW Design Office?

Conrad Uno

Just watched Ogmios and I can see myself disappearing down that particular internet rabbit hole for the next few days. As for the 2 finger coach gear shift - it looks to me like he believes something unpleasant is coated on to the shifter and is keen to minimise contact !

AL Dickens

The Flex was a nice vehicle, shared a platform with the Taurus sedan, last generation Ford Explorer, and their Lincoln variants. While they were in production they were usually the vehicle of choice for Ford dealership service departments for shuttle duty because of their spacious and quiet cabin.

Ed Nicholson

Also Richard in his trademark front 3/4 view stance. I’ve e ever seen him face the camera front on

Simon Whittaker

The boot cut is strong in this photo 👖

maloneranger

Ah that pic of the trio takes me back. Taken before Jeremy was pregnant 😂
