Podcast 125 - Live from Malvern Link

Sorry about some of the sound quality on this one. It gets better after the first 10 minutes.

For the first time Jonny and Richard record a podcast in front of a live audience, in this case at the Morgan Experience Centre in Malvern Link.

Topics covered in this episode include a new encounter with the OTOSOT man, being given things by a neighbour, the most naive thing you've ever said, being unable to wash a car at home, the Busfest event, 1990s bouncer-baiting trousers, the Acrimonious Rally, things hanging from rear view mirrors, exposed JDM oil coolers, throwing away cruise ships, having problems with a badger, the real reason for lane assist, and are Morgans road rage proof? Plus, a man who looks a bit like Jeff Bezos lifts a very heavy chair.

Excellent

Steve Morton

Pretty much. The one I use which is the cheapest Argos one has a max of 24bar pressure. More reputable brands like Karcher also do them now and probably have a better output. I use a wash mitt in-between applying the soap and then rinsing and the results are pretty good after a towel dry.

John Hammond

Enough pressure to dislodge dirt without scrubbing?

Radon Racing

Richard, there are some very good cordless pressure washers around. I bought one as my house has no suitable space to wash a car within reach of the outside tap. Two standard buckets of water outside and does a good job. Runs for about 20 mins on a single battery.

John Hammond

This was excellent! Looking forward to making a future event

Jason Ellis

That was excellent. It might be worth the airfare for a future show indeed.

Jeffrey Smith

Sorry this is in the wrong place but I’ve just seen the Jimny sale video and Mrs Jonny now needs a 508 wagon. Preferably the PSE version.

Ed Storer

Well chaps that was excellent! I look forward to shouting Fowwddsss at you both if you fancied doing another one. Especially of a northern persuasion on that side of things.

Michael Lyth

Donning the bus anorak here; there is a "busfest" event which is held at Gaydon which is for buses and this year's event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the (I personally think wonderful) Leyland National bus. https://www.wythall.org.uk/busfest.asp

John Hammond

That was definitely the bit that had me laughing the most, a room full of people mispronouncing Ford Transit in perfect unison.

John Hammond

On the subject of automotive snack access, I discovered that if you pull out the extending seat squab in a mk3.5 Focus ST, the gulley created can comfortably house a pipe of Pringles. The added benefit is that any crumbs and Pringle dust are captured in the leathery cavity for easy removal post-trip. You're welcome.

Sounds as if it was recorded in a concrete bunker used as a store for highly resonant bed springs. Lots of fun, but a bit echoey. Also I had a Morgan 4/4 which I had built to my specification following my appearance as a guest on Wrong Car Right Car. I used it for the final 7 years of my career in General Medical Practice. It was great fun as a daily driver. I spun it once on the A3 having misjudged my speed on a corner. Ended up facing in the opposite direction. Fortunately no other cars or scenery were encountered, although I did get a rather stony glare from the lorry driver who witnessed the whole thing and drove past me before I restarted it and drove very slowly to my destination. And zoology is properly pronounced zo-wology. The common pronunciation zoo-wology is incorrect.

FOWDS TRAAAAAANISTAH

Sean Hamerton

This is excellent with a live audience, whole different energy. Will the new exposed oil cooler fad move to the ASHP, some tasteful braided anodised pipe wrap maybe? Carbon wrap on the fan blades?

Maurice Barnes

Good news!

Robin Johnsen

We did. To be released as a Patreon exclusive some time soon, we hope. Richard

This was great, really enjoyed it and would have liked to have been there.

Graham Dallas

Did you record a video? 🙂

Robin Johnsen

Brilliant show! What an incredible venue. Thanks for making it such a fun time lads - haven’t laughed that much in ages!
