New Smith and Sniff video OUT NOW

Hello gang.

It's been a while since Smith and Sniff made a video but, at long last, we've filmed something new in which we play a stupid car spotting game on our way to this week's premiere of No Time To Die. So, if you want to watch two idiots in suits trundling around London vainly hoping to see a Toyota 2000GT, now's your chance.

You can watch the new vid here: https://youtu.be/4Q1yFvcMiVQ

Podcast as normal on Sunday night/Monday morning.

Thanking yous.

Jonny and Richard

What didn't you understand Josh? Be happy to help you out.

Snowy

Good to see you boys back in the same vehicle. Thanks for the tour of my misspent Norf Lunnon youth in Ampstead an Ighgate. Boy has it changed.

Timothy Jones

Really enjoyed this video - did you bring along one of Jonny's cinematographers? Hope we get to see some more in-person videos from time to time

Ben Payne

I think the Bond movie title has a typo - It was meant to be "No Time to Dine"

Phil R

I think 'Never Dies' and 'Eyes Only' are my two favourite Partridgesque Bond shortenings. 'Daylights' gets an honourable mention too. Cracking stuff, ten on ten.

Spartacus Mills

I only saw one car on the bond car bingo sheet last night after I'd watched the video, 8 pm , pissing it down with rain, BMW z8 pulling out a BP in Colchester. My friend looked at me like a mental case as I exitedly pointed and shouted bond car bingo.

Alastair may

Bond has never been to a petrol station for a fill up!

Kevin Perham

Really enjoyed the return of S&S driving around looking at stuff. I know it must be a pain in the arse to organise but it really was first class. I was ending myself at the thought of the owner of the XJR looking out of his window and seeing two flutes (albeit in posh whistle and flutes) milling about his motor.

Battles

Even though I've never seen a Bond film, I loved it so much I watched it twice! Here's hoping for the occasional s&S vids in the future. I hope you can help me understand the British number plate lingo too... I desperately want in on the jokes

Josh Hamilton

Wow, what a leap in production value! Top notch camera work, exceptional sound, and tight narrative editing. Makes me miss the crunching crisps somewhat, but appreciated nonetheless. But please don't let this level of effort and cost dissuade you fellows from creating further videos. The effort is clearly evident but not necessarily required to satisfy your quirky and selective fan base. Speaking for myself, at least.

Guy Sande

There is a 959 parked in Spectre in the scenes they shot at Blenheim Palace

Andy Waterman

I was really holding out for an AMC Hornet 😂The Erno Goldfinder story was fantastic. This was easily one of my favorite episodes you guys have ever done! Growing up in the 1990s during Nintendo 64 and Goldeneye fever, I became a massive Bond fan and watched every single Bond film before, and since. This episode brought me back in time, and the endless trivia you guys have squirreled away never ceases to amaze me. Cheers!

The parking spaces in Princes Gate are very convenient for the Albert Hall via the JustPark app, on that side of things

That was great fun, particularly the Goldfinger house. Sorry you didn't see a 2000GT. A friend owns one of the two Bond 2000GT convertibles. Here is a rare shot of them together, along with a Shelby car repainted in the livery of a speed-distance record holder (the actual record car was destroyed). Barstow's book cites the Shelby cars as failing in SCCA racing because of their low power, but this is not quite accurate. What actually happened is that Peter Brock (BRE) was so angry at Shelby stealing the 2000GT racing contract that he loaded up his Datsun racers and drove out to any race the 2000GTs were competing in to block them so the Porsches could win - the Datsuns were competing in a lower class. https://imgur.com/a/I9CILmD

There's an old boy near me who still drives a Renault 11 daily. He's covered 28,000 miles in it during the last 2 years! Parked on the street in Lewisham as well. Don't know how it hasn't rusted away or disappeared. https://www.instagram.com/p/CK9FZ3al5Nn/?utm_medium=copy_link

Tom Carter

What a fantastic way to 'return' to videos together. I spent most of the video watching over Jonny's shoulder for a Ford Ka that you may have missed, sadly I didn't see one.

Matt Tester

Thanks Richard, saw he's posted this so thought he might have street parked and beat you to a place https://www.instagram.com/p/CUXXXBZMVG4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Explaining to Daniel Craig at the after party that it’s bingo dabber on your shirt could have been a bit awkward.

FRSHNMNTY

It was a V8 Vantage so not Jay Kay, I guess. The Bond spec Defender was very nice. Best looking new Defender I've yet seen. Though you can't buy one exactly like that, firstly 'cos it's got the old engine and secondly because they won't do you the smoked badges on regular models. Richard

Smith and Sniff

Do it!

Smith and Sniff

The SPY reg Aston was a V8 Vantage so not Jay Kay (unless he's got two). Lots of Jay Kay chat in the next podcast, by the way, OTSOT. Richard

Smith and Sniff

He had to run into Imperial College near the Albert Hall where his bow tie allowed him to pass as an eccentric professor. Richard

Smith and Sniff

I meant to bring one of those massive bingo marker pens but forgot. Also, you're right, terrible risk of accidental shirt damage. Richard

Smith and Sniff

Long time coming, that’s made my isolation a lot more bearable! But I now have ideas for more film car bingo 😅

joe brudenell

Great to see you back in a car and really enjoyed the video, not that I don’t enjoy the podcasts. Also agree that Jason Barlow’s Bond car book is great. Couple of quick questions. Was the Aston with the SPY number plate that you mention near the end silver by any chance? If it was, it is likely to be Jay Kay’s DB5 as he was also at the premier and his DB5 registration is SPY 288C (he posted a pic on Twitter on Tuesday). Also did you like the Bond spec defender?

Gordon Segar

You gits, I'm now looking at chopping my XF sportbrake for an XJR having sold my same shap XJ 6 months ago ffs

Dean Cadby

Utterly superb, loved every minue of it :) Car spotting in the leafy streets of London, we need more of that.

Mark Elliott

Just brilliant gents, loved the return of the videos. The Spy reg Aston is Jay Kay from Jamiroquai if it was a DB5, they let him in too! Btw there was a Fuego in View to a Kill but no more chance of seeing one them than the 11!

andrew philbey

My wife now wants to play Bond Bingo on the way to watch it today, excellent, pub singer Smith on fine form

Andy Waterman

Missed these videos so much on that side of things.

Adam Sillett

Excellent video! Will be printing bond bingo off and putting it in my truck. Thanks lads for the entertainment.

richard lessemun

I missed how absoulutely brilliant you two gents in a car are. Fantastic episode really enjoyed it. I do worry you are navigating london using parked cars. "The Elan next to London Zoo"

Robin White

Was it just me wanting you to cross them off as you spotted them? Didn’t want to get sharpie on your shirt? Maybe someone could go through the video and cross off the board with the spots and upload it?

FRSHNMNTY

Brilliant! Great to have you back in a car together! The question is, did you have time to wazz before the film started Jonny?

Chris B

Brilliant to get the boys back in town!

Andrew D Robinson

Good luck with the AMC Hornet...

Peter Heamon

The video that’s made my year… … and I’ve not watched it yet.

Chris Lipp

just fabulous

Mark Williams

Great vid, so surprised you didn't spot a 2000GT, especially the ultra-common convertible 😁🤔 just wondering; when Bond switches to an EV, wil he suffer from range anxiety mid-chase?

Bruce Driffill

Just got to say I thoroughly loved this video; just the type of fun mates should have.

Formula Whine

Unbearably excited! - Already on it - on that side of things ….
