Friday fun - The Late Brake Show Live pub quiz

Hello.

One of our lovely patrons - hi Brendan - asked if we might share Richard's pub quiz questions from last weekend's Late Brake Show Live and since it's Friday we thought, yes, let's do that. So here they are. The sixth round is the 'name the cars' round, based on the five photos of cars at the top of this post. It's just a bit of fun, don't write in. Answers this evening.

Good luck!

My (all over the place yesterday) mind wandered into this somehow being connected to the Volvo Tundra becoming the Citroen BX, when the BX may have pre-dated the Tundra design. Anyway, like I said, it wasn't my finest moment.

Ant Brown

I couldn’t find the questions for part six. I scored 10 out of the 25 that I answered.

Alex Brunsdon

Go on, you've got to tell us which one you thought there was an issue with. Just between the 1,200 of us...

Peter Heamon

There is a way to check your answers (cheat) on the picture round and I got all of them wrong, two of them I'd never heard of.

Barnogan

I think I've got 8 but that includes Car 5, if the big brains struggled with it then I'm probably wrong about that car.

Barnogan

Think I've done reasonably well on the TV/Film round - shite on the all the others.

Stephen Cooper

In what US state is the Road America circuit?

Ger O'Connor

The engine noise round makes me think of Gone in 60 Seconds where Robert Duvall and Nick Cage listen to a tape of a Ferrari!

Ger O'Connor

What? No Motor Spowaaaaaaataaaaaaaaaah-a questions?

Marc Earnshaw

Yeah that would be fun trying to remember which car ad used take my breath away... and I'm off down a you tube wormhole. Or could have a round of guess the engine noise

Duncan Dyer

For those who wish to know the winning score was 27/30 at the event, next three were 26, 25, and 23 1/2. Can't remember what they got the 1/2 for. I think the hardest question was picture #5, in that I think there were only a couple of correct answers out of the hundreds who took part - and even then a full point was given for just the manufacturer.

Peter Heamon

Ooh. Music from car adverts?

Ant Brown

Same a Duncan roughly 1/2 without thinking then I would probably overthink it and get the rest wrong anyway.

Nigel Hancock

I feel I've failed as a car nerd because I've not answered as many as I thought I would. 😔 Lol.

George Wade

At a rough estimate I reckon I'd score about half points(mainly thanks to things I've learned on the podcast or from certain boring car trivia books...), but I'm confident I'd win if it was on in my local pub. And the host would get lynched for not having a music round.

Duncan Dyer

Yeah, I'll check. There's also the risk that what I've done here (as is so popular online) is sh*tted in my hands and clapped. Still, there's only you both, plus 1200 patrons who will ever know about it.... edit: Yeah, I've disgraced myself. I'll be quiet now.

Ant Brown

An issue? Uh-oh!

Smith and Sniff

You know that episode of The Simpsons where Sideshow Bob keeps turning around, only to be hit in the face by a rake? That's basically today, nothing bad, but unbelievably annoying. Reproducing these questions has caused a U-turn, because a) they're a wonderful distraction and b) I seem to know more of the answers than I should, in fact I may need to call a steward's enquiry one of them as I think there may be an issue with it. And then my wife turns up with a copy of Roger's Profanisaurus as a gift. Ok, things might be turning around for me..... Anyway, thanks again for being the thing that started to swap stuff around. And for a fiver a month?! Incredible.

Ant Brown

Don’t post answers here before they are announced pls!
