Added 2021-07-25 18:00:04 +0000 UTCHow did the beloved singing duo get to Scarborough Fair?
Also in this episode, venus fly traps, unstable loo seats, surprisingly posh Transit door locks, football trains, suity shoes, plane funk smells, zombie morris dancing, potatoes in cupholders, affluent foreign spec cars, modern steel wheels and Griff Rhys Jones in his underpants.
Plus, top new TV shows George Clarke's Embarrassing Stains, Stealing Cars with James May, and Derek Bell's Amazing Shortcuts plus Nigel Havers is James Bond, licenced to smack cricket balls at people.

2021-07-26 16:50:07 +0000 UTCHi Guys! Great podulecast as ever, tough to listen to in the car as I get stared at for laughing like a mental. Just to note that there is a district of New York called Scarborough, as well as towns in Maine, North Carolina and Ontario. Anyway, when you first mentioned Messrs Garfunkle and Simon leathering it up the A1 to look at potatoes I imagined them scrunched up in a comically undersized and underpowered family car like an Austin 1100 frantically deciphering the no-doubt numerous illuminated warning lights*, the 1300 being too pricey to rent, and, British car rental companies not being known for their largesse, a land crab would've been out of the question, on that side of things. *no wonder the Garfunkle's hair stands on end to this day, what there is left of it. I'm sorry to point out a horrendous omission on your part, akin to not mentioning Princess Anne when discussing Reliant Scimitars... On both your latest 'cast, and either your Malbec-fuelled stream of consciousness from outside of a caravan or your piece to camera from Gouty Goodwood, you mentioned Derek Bell(end?). On neither occasion did you refer to his majesty of motorspowarght'z-ahh as 'Five Times Le Mans Winner Derek Bell! On yet another side of things, good knowledge of Newfy airfields being used for refuelling stops. Back in the 90s and early noughties I flew RAF C-130 Hercules, we regularly stopped at Gander, Goose Bay, St John's, or Halifax (Nova Scotia) for rest and refuel layovers. Happy memories of wandering from the hotel to bars in -30c and 20' snow drifts wearing jeans and t-shirt., might have been under the influence of alcohol at that point, they had a habit of opening the hotel bar whatever time of day we arrived...

2021-07-26 06:03:01 +0000 UTCAt the risk of being a story-arc pest, can we please get an update on whether or not the Ford Sierra model was actually sent by the famous pedantic Scotsman who tutored TV's James May on a racetrack? I've resigned myself to never hearing another supercharged Range Rover update - fair enough. But these hanging threads taunt me. Haunt me.

2021-07-26 00:36:42 +0000 UTCTop work again this week guyzzzzzzz. Because I can't let this thing (that everyone knows) rattle around my brain without sharing it, in the vein of downplaying/ making a more discrete RR Ghost here's the link to the 70s recession/ discrete Rolls Royce substitute: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_Rio . I have no idea what the modern equivalent would be. What mid- range, long in the tooth saloon would be rehashed as a Frankenstein's Monster of a Roller?

2021-07-25 20:14:59 +0000 UTCOn the military side of things I was at an Italian aviation museum in 2019 and a helicopter had 'PLEAR' stencilled on it. It made no sense and hasn't since. It also had 'RECOCKING'. I don't know what type heli it was because I childishly just took pictures of these words.

2021-07-25 20:02:24 +0000 UTCOn that side of things, I was on holiday with my aunt for a week and I realised that she uses a German version of OTSOT ("von der Sache her") and every time she says it now, I hear one of you or, weirdly, both of you in unison saying "on that side of things" right after. It's getting really tiring - so thanks for that. There better be an OTSOT sticker in your upcoming merch so that I can exorcise that demon.
