Podcast 66 show notes

Hello again, gang. This week we're back to podcast business as usual (which is to say not recording in a field and not drinking wine) but there's one difference with this episiode; we're actually talking about cars. Mostly.

The first pic here is of the tatty old number plates from Richard's Range Rover. Now replaced. Next we have a couple of views of the new Vauxhall Astra, and then a Kia Picanto in the only colour you get for free. It's called Honey Bee, in case you were wondering. Then we've got the Ineos Grenadier interior and the Singer ACS (All-terrain Competition Study).

Here's a handful of relevant links...

Weird. I saw a range rover with yh10 plates ahead of me today in MK. Made me think of this! Richard, was that you?

Nick Davies

Is he also J’s auto electrician in his spare time?

Ed Storer

Can't believe I have just had a conversation with our new business manager from Virgin Media and he finished nearly every sentence with "On that side of things" never noticed before.

David Burns

I've got a Megane R26 with 203,000 miles on it. The previous owner bought it nearly new and used it to commute 60 miles a day for 12 years. It's held up surprisingly well.

Glenn Chalmers

"On that side of things" - great slogan if you make Alfa Romeo numberplates.

Daniel Smith

The Porsche Ken Barlow would have womens knickers off in minutes

Scott Boulter

Thanks for the enjoyable podcast guys. Always brings a smile to my monday. The Singer ACS with a new livery and without Porsche badges has made a appearance on the GP Ice Race instagram account.

Martijn van Dam

The cross-back-over has to be called the “Less Active”

Now there’s an internet wormhole i once got sucked into: the fate of Uwe Gemballa. I can assure you ‘in his old age’ does not apply..

Jasper Maters

Fix for the Sorento PHEV / Defender problem… defender on trailer and test towing capability. I am pretty sure sorentos are big with the C&C brigade. See you on the other side of things

Very car heavy tonight lads! Don’t worry too much OTSOT, I think we all listen to your podcast for the pure joy of the utter codshit that is occasionally interspersed with car based chat. It feels like sitting in the car with my mates and I love every episode! I sat listening to you whilst changing a wheel bearing on my Citroën LNA, I broke 2 bolts, skinned my knuckles on the sharp end of the sill and was still chuckling away! Thankyou for what you do, it makes my week every week! By the way Jonny, if you want to feature some questionable small French shite on the LBS channel, gizza shaaart, we could gather some very shabby and also incredibly rare chod for the occasion!

Ben Aston

Not forgetting Bright Arse by Art Garfunkel..

Hi, I was catching up on Smith&Sniff YouTube a couple months ago and noticed they changed from video into podcasts. I'm still catching up and only just heard about this Patreon in the podcast. The show notes are great, and I bought all the boring trivia books you've been flogging, so now it'll take me even longer to catch up. Loving it all so far <3

Tailen

I thought last week's podcast benefitted greatly from Malbec

Bob Burr

Oh god

Daniel Achterhuis

The song definitely take place in Cali specifically LA the chorus is "All I wanna do is have some fun Until the sun comes up Over Santa Monica Boulevard"

Bill

I bloody knew it about that washing powder.

David Jones

Speaking of gel plates, I've seen the "spooughts" equivalent on a lorry with a Nike promotional trailer on some interesting plates: N11 KES. I kept hearing in my head these 2 gents saying it Niikesss, in a chavtastic way...

Filipe dos Reis

Has Richard got some of those fancy 3D Gel plates he loves so much
