Podcast 55 show notes

Hi gang.

A load of photos for you this week. First of all, a brief sense of what Santa Pod is all about, as if you didn't know. Then we have a pair of listeners' excellent Deceased Spec cars, Ashley's Xantia and Mike's Civic. Next, the Nissan Elgrand Rider and the Honda Element, then new and old Jeep Wagoneers together, and finally some Wolfrace Slot Mag wheels, as modelled by Jonny's Flux Capacitor street legal EV drag car.

In this show we made reference to a Jeep Wagoneer 'restored by Wagonmaster'. Turns out that's these people: https://wagonmaster.com

One of those very expensive Jeep Cherokees: https://bit.ly/3t88NBz

That mystery straight six hearse we were talking about: https://bit.ly/3xBrfpG

Proof that Richard wasn't making up that thing about the Rainbow theme tune: https://bit.ly/3t3xAa0

Love my Xantia, such a big wafty comfy car, but then again I've come from a lowered mk2 clio. I think if I fell down the stairs into some brambles it might be preferable 🀣

Latest (almost) deceased spec... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164855426793?hash=item2662262ee9:g:h5QAAOSwT9Jghx9Q

My lad wants to go to Santa Pod. I think I'll have to drop a whole pack of Imodium to avoid toilet useage

Bob Burr

The Santa Pod story made me and the wife chuckle far too much as we are regular visitors to the Pod and can relate to the delights of the toilets

Russ Hill

MY former Mrs makes wedding cakes. That hearse has plenty of space and a high roof. It looks like it would be a perfect delivery vehicle, assuming it had slot mags.

Carl Pickering

I've never seen a Toyota Hearse, surely HSD would be an eminently sensible means of movement

Bob Burr

Alfie Noakes knows no jokes!

Paul Fargher

I bet the owner of that hearse is gong to be confused by the number of hits the advert has had...

Zoona

As far as hearses go this buddist nissan president is interesting https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1262556

Jake Bell

So it's (Santa Pod) a bit like Glyndebourne then? Yeah says Jonny, evidently oblivious to the reference 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

Simon White

Mythbusters did a show where they stuck two dead pigs in a C4 corvette and let them sit in a container for a couple of (months)? then they tried to clean and sell it with little luck

david marden

Imagine a Lotus Carlton Hearse... Can't think of many better last trips before getting planted.

Conor Moran

Found a better hearse... It's a crew cab, it's cheaper and has a years MOT.....https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265129637727

Ben Fitch

Ah I was guessing Omega for the hearse so close enough I guess. Also that k20 swapped EG Hatch is a beauty.

Finn Hendrie

Can we post pictures in here? I have some photos of a Elgrand Nismo I took at the Nismo 30th anniversary festival at Fuji raceway. I would also suggest people go look up the Jerrari, which is a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with a Ferrari V12 under the hood. There were two made, the first a horrific eyesore and the second one a hilarious sleeper.

Brendan McAleer

Always liked the Xantia, closest I got to driving one was it's big brother, my old man had an XM 3.0 Manuel, it was an absolute beast but with an electrical system clearly build to a budget of about Β£7.99.

Graham Dallas

I don't get the Jeep Β£18k, WTF.

Philip Dickinson

When I read the Hugh Fraser wiki page I exicitedly thought he played Ted Hastings in Line of duty

Martin Kent

My friends Dad had a white Xantia for years. He finally got rid after the suspension packed in, leaving it at maximum ride height & looking like a startled tabby on its tip toes! πŸ˜‚

Dave Hughes

A Xantia holds the distinction of being the only car that has ever made me travel sick. The heady concoction of French hydropneumatic suspension, Wickstead Park fairground rides and excessive sugar is not one to be recommended. Naturally, I blame the Xantia, not the questionable judgment of twelve year old me.

Iain Turner

I mean, i do listen every episode, but there's a French Shitbox in the show notes I am all in.
