Going into the Third Year (The Post Of The Pausing Of The Binding Of Isaac)
Added 2023-03-27 23:28:53 +0000 UTCI was editing the channel trailer for 'Year 2', and It got me thinking about the channel's progress. It didn't feel like I made much this year.
About 7 months ago, I posted a big schedule of what videos were coming next, and for the most part, it was a whole lot of Isaac videos. The ones that came out ended up being pretty long! While that's great for anyone who loves the 'lore' stuff, it really ended up taking more time than I'd liked. Problem is, in comparison to my other videos, the stats on 'em didn't really justify the months of work I'd put in. That's not to say that it's just the metrics that matter, but I could've made so many others in that time, and I would've had so much more fun making them. When I had time, I posted a few, but they all felt like side projects.
So here we are, halfway through a finale arc that'd close the 'tainted' story up, and my motivation seems to have slowed to a crawl. I don't wanna force myself to work on something I'm not having fun making, especially if it's cannibalising other projects.
So for now, Moriah Undergrounds isn't going anywhere, and for the near future, it isn't going anywhere. (Canonically, there's gonna be a timeskip anyway!) Don't worry, I've got all the details written down in a neat little book, so it won't be forgotten, but I really feel like I've got to work on something else. Burnout's a hell of a thing, and I'll return to it when it feels right.
Going forward, I want to focus on videos about stuff I'm playing, and the silly jokes that made me want to animate, like I used to! I think that's what's been missing lately. It's a controversial change, but I hope can you stick with me through it.
(As a side note, I also plan to change up how I do the credits. Working in each animated doodle in their current state is proving quite a hassle with the sheer amount of contributors (thank you!), and the way I've edited before. I'm thinking of making it a collage of everyone on the same screen, almost like a group picture! I'll be basing it off the original doodles for now, but if you want something changed, let me know with a PM!)
