2024-03-07 -- Respecting the Silhouette
Added 2024-03-18 18:01:52 +0000 UTCOften, the process of rendering to completion (however that's defined) means adding detail. Detail can outright destroy a silhouette, confusing light from shadow or foreground from background.
Using the reference provided, practice the various strategies I've outlined in the lesson.

i love this idea of adding details from the silhouettes inwards. it lines up the thinking of the big masses with breaking them down to small forms. how would you approach adding highlights in this way?

Dude the more I look at the painting the more I am amazed at the sensitive approach to light all over the figure. I was particularly struck by the light on the front of the bandana. Thanks for all the training Steve, studying art is a long road, but I am thoroughly enjoying the walk!
