Finding The 3-D Through Whistle Notches & The LTLs

One of the most difficult problems in drawing a head is to make it look three dimensional in any position close to a profile. 

Being able to draw the eye socket as a grand corner between the front of the face and the side of the head is a critical step towards overcoming that problem.


Suggested Homework:


Using the portfolio of images provided, map out the eye socket to find the  zigzagging corners of the Forehead and Cheekbones areas.

I love how you convey your message Steve! Can you reveal who you early teaching influences are? I recently stumbled on Glenn Vilppu videos on YT. I see similarities. (FYI your my third online teacher since resuming drawing after a 35 year hiatus. I'm trying to cherry pick skills and thought processes. I've been making a living with a camera since art school)
