I apologize for the long delay in getting a new training to you. We were having no end of trouble with both my computer and my internet speed.
We believe we have it solved. In the meantime, I'm uploading several new stream to reward you for your patience.
I really appreciate it!
This was a bonus lesson I did for my clients on how to draw in paint . . .
Every stroke you make in a painting - just like every mark in a drawing - can accomplish several things for you. At the very least it can almost always show the Structure of an area and the Gesture as that area somehow connects to other areas next to it.
If we are strategic enough with our mark making, there are almost always to fast track the painting process so it's not endless hours of tiny gradations of one detail into another.
Suggested Homework:
Try drawing thick bands of value, like a Core Shadow or a Highlight in any wet medium (like oil or watercolor) or any dry medium like pastels or charcoal (Vine, Alpha Color/Black, for example).
Start simply with an observed or made up tube. Then graduate to an egg. And finally give a part of the body a shot.
Have fun!
