Here’s the beautiful truth…
I believe, Art is not mainly about crafting any “thing”, it’s about demonstrating a more well-composed life.
There is a reason why the first artists were the shamans.
The real power comes when you begin to act consciously – what I call seeing life with an artist's eye...
It can start small…
Thank the baristas for the bagel and coffee, being conscious of how the light illuminates their faces.
Stir your coffee, being conscious of the cream as it spirals into deeper connection with your favorite brew.
The job of the artist is to not just look, but to really see.
We are not supposed to just exist on autopilot.
Most souls on this planet can only manage autopilot.
The artist’s job is to do better – beautifully better.
Artists came to this planet to fill the unconscious, “blank” hours of the day consciously, … just as we fill the blank pages of our sketchbook.
Our job is to look for beauty every moment we can…
To record the best moments on the blank page, and to transmute them into a beautiful series of connections… with the hope of nudging others toward more connection themselves.
That is our purpose. That’s why we’re here.
Most folks see the world as a series of opposites– black/white, conservative/liberal, fluid/binary, bad/good…
Disconnected…
Yet, every art form throughout history has brilliant strategies for building more connections into the world…

Art isn’t just beautiful… It’s wise!
Art’s here to show us that we have both community and purpose…
As in every spiritual tradition.
I want to keep making Art a bigger part of my life.
