Regrets - We've Had a Few...

What a rollercoaster of a last 18 months. If we had our time again, well...

If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through. It's been a turgid time at our secret volcano lair; illness, stubbornness, Elliot Ness and others have seen what should have been the culmination of ten years effort pay off in a satisfactory way have actually left us in quite a state in many different ways. The whole team has been dumped on in one way or another and we have all had to work through our own issues while dealing with the most frustrating and soul-destroying part of the build.

I know many of you have lost faith and truth be told it's been very hard at times for us not to as well; demons come in many different guises... We are not ones to air our troubles publicly.

However, we refuse to dwell on the negatives anymore, we've got loads of new content in the editing phase, we've got tonnes of footage for Binky Episode 39 in the can and we're shooting more every day. The M50 Celica video is just being polished, the 100-year-old Dodge is going to be an absolute hoot over two videos, we've got a beautiful replica Jaguar C Type BOM Classics that just needs a few more tracking shots to complete the shoot and more in the planning. Ben is taking care of most of this in his spare time.

Kicking and screaming the mini is being finished. Whether is bloody well likes it or not and that is our sole focus, after all that's our bread and butter. The payoff will be awesome - I have no doubt. (Narrator: He has doubts...)

Always ones to look forward, we'd very much like to offer you - our long suffering Patrons - the opportunity to give us a steer on what you'd like to see next. We need something to look forward to apart from the road trip to Ireland to get the Mini mapped on the Dyno...

The Escargot is going to take up a fair amount of our efforts in the new year, but the build bay will be empty so we have a number of projects in the shed that are due some attention. We have the MG X Power SVR that is going to be amazing, but very expensive as parts are hard to find. We have the Peugeot 205 Rally car with our custom built 1600 16v engine that we'd like to re-build with custom suspension and a host of modern improvements and turn it into a proper lightweight 1600 class winning car. We have an Opel Ascona shell sitting upstairs that we don't really know what to do with yet - anything is possible. We have a Ford Anglia 105E that's ripe for a nice restomod and we have an extremely rare 1967 (half year) Datsun 2000 Roadster that needs a total restoration. Also it needs an engine, oh, and a gearbox, and a back axle...

So if there's anything in the above list of stuff we already have in the shed that you'd like to see in the build studio, please let us know. None of them will ever match Binky for complexity or sheer WTFery, but each has its own areas that we have proper BOM ideas about. And none of them will take 10+ years!

I know we've been the worst content creators in the history of content creators recently creating barely any content worthy of your consideration so for that, we humbly apologise. In reality, and I mean this sincerely, it's only those of you who have kept the faith that have allowed us to do the same no matter how dark it’s been in the our shed.

Thank you, as always.

Cheers,

Nik, Richard and Ben.

205 - it’s the “modern” mini of the 90’s before, well, the modern mini!

Farlig69

I’ve been thinking of you guys recently and hoping all is well. I’m a Texan and only understand what the Datsun is. That’d be cool.

Lorenzo

I'm always interested in stuff like that.

Bad Obsession Motorsport

Chaps, would it be of any interest to know that I might know a guy with a full set of MG X Power SVR body panels just sort of kicking around?

John U

Seeing the 205 get run competitively would be a right treat in my mind. Anyway, there's no need to rush for us, like you gents have said in the past this is just how building a car basically from scratch goes, that is if you want it to actually be something you want to drive.

Kyle Thomas

DATSUN 2000!!!!!

Ben Dixon

The MG is tempting, though I'd recommend going with the 205 first 'cause I think it's a relatively quick project to do. After that, I say reveal the Opel so we have an idea of what sort of rat's den we're looking at, and afterwards...IDK. BTW, been following since the very first episode when everyone said that putting Celica GT4 running gear in an Austin Mini was impossible (Clearly, they never counted on Nik being such a mad man). I've stayed with you guys since and will be here to the bitter end!!! EVEN WHEN THE TEA RUNS OUT!!!

Rashid Al-Naimi

Having just serviced for the 1st ever 205gti press car in the UK (historic documentation as proof) on the Mull rally, I'd be happy with any 205 rally car content, escargot has the makings of top drawer entertainment so get the hell on with it!!! Unlike others in the comments I have never felt the urge to withdraw my patreon contribution (tho I came close when a tax audit brought up the patreon payments, if you ever try to explain to a taxman the entertainment value of project Binky.......) Keep it up you wastes of space.

gary campbell

What, take the turbo out of Binky and fit an extra bank of cylinders to the engine? Hmmmm, might not fit though...

Michel

I've just spent two years trying to fix an '07 freewind, which is less complicated than a single one of your brackets, so I wont be pointing fingers.. (And yes, it's more broken now than when I started). I agree that any update, however small, is great and if you need to clean your head by doing something different for a while, updates on the other projects is greatly appreciated too. At this point I'm making an evening out of it every time you post. It's like finally settling down to watch a long awaited film. It's something to look forward to, and I haven't lost faith.

Mattis Grimstad

rally car and a rally stage vid

Peter Young

Unless Nik starts thinking about things...😆

Sebastian Martin

Lads, thanks for the update. I'm with the general sentiment that the occasional update - even if it's just a photo of a stupid roll of biccies - would be greatly appreciated. But first and foremost, please look after yourselves. As for life getting in the way, I feel your pain. I have 2 Opel Corsa A's (Vauxhall Nova to you UK folk 😄) that have been sitting in a shed for well over 15 years, untouched and unloved. I really need to pull my finger out. As for the multiple choice question: Binky, Escargot, MG, restomod/Peugeot/whatever next. In that order. 👍🏻

Niek Hoogendoorn

I'm glad that you are back! Of the cars you listed I would really like to see the 205 for some light entertainment and the MG later on. I admit when I reached the "And none of them will take 10+ years!" part I had a short laugh, but I know what you mean. 😆 Keep it up! And keep us updated! 👍

Sebastian Martin

I bloody hope not! Just the thought! 😱

Niek Hoogendoorn

Not going to lie, it’s crossed my mind more than once to pull my merge plug. Appreciate the update. We all know how life can go and I don’t suppose for one minute you’re resting on your laurels while pulling our pants down. I’d obviously love to see Binky ‘finished’. After that I’d love to see Escargo come on or even get finished. Would also love to see the 205 receive a make over. Let’s be perfectly honest, I’ll sycophantically lap up any BOM YouTube content with glee!

Chris Parish

A Binky episode would be nice, the 205 rally seems doable in less than 10 years. I like all your stuff.

Olaf van Es

These things happen. It would be good to see Binky finished, to see an update on the Escargo and to see your plans for the MG XPower.

Huw Davies

I'm just glad to hear that you all are still moving forward. Understand that life twists and turns in unexpected ways. All you can do is roll with the punches and keep coming up swinging, sooner or later you'll get through! The only thing I would ask is even a once monthly sign of life- something to let us know you're still active, at least. Looking forward to the next episode of Escargot, whenever that happens.

Jacob Granger

Get some content up!!!!!!!!!!! This obsession to achieve perfection with the builds is entertaining and worth waiting for. However, "perfection achievement syndrome" with the videos is a fucking pain in the ass.

Norris D Boyd

Anything at all build-related would get my vote. Your event / car overview videos are ok, but it's not the content I love. I've been a supporter on here since May 2015 and I'll be honest, I've wondered what I'm still doing here. I'm happy to support creators, like everyone else I am in awe of the level of detail going into binky, but 1 (?) binky episode this year for $5/mo for the privilege of watching it 24 hours early doesn't necessarily move the needle for me. Hell, like everyone else, life gets in the way and I usually can't watch the video early anyway. I'm not mad, I'm not disappointed, I'm just having an objective look at what creators are giving me entertainment. I may stick around, I may not, no hard feelings either way. I will absolutely continue to watch build content either way.

Dan Dreese

Keep at it guys. I know how projects can take unexpected turns. It's tough when life throws you curves as well. It's great to see you haven't given up and want to press on. Press on, we'll be here waiting for the next update. Make sure you keep your family and personal health first! Personally I would like to see the Datsun 2000 project. Definitely would also like to see the Escargot completed. Cheers!

Eric Ohmit

Datsun!

11Bravo Crunchie

Certainly understand and appreciate how life can get in the way of making videos, and wouldn't expect chapter and verse on why you've not posted in a while, good things come to those who wait, and all that. Just happy that you're still with us and look forward to the Binky endeavour coming to its 'conclusion'. I'm ready for more Escargot content, definitely. Tough to make a solid decision over what should be in the spotlight next, though I would be interested in what you can achieve with some carbon fibray, so the MG would be an interesting build. Glad you're still keeping on. Ready for new videos as and when they arrive. Edit: I remember (this is for my own benefit) commenting on a previous post some time ago, about whether Binky would be finished before my own 10+ year long motorcycle project, and I win, I was on the road again from the beginning of september! Admittedly I didn't have to film it.... And the brackets I made, it turned out I didn't need them, oh the irony.

Sam Alder

This was well-timed. I was thinking of pulling the plug just yesterday. I was beginning to fear that it was all over – that's actually what I thought this post was going to say! So sorry to hear you've been having a tough time. My vote goes to the Anglia.

Antony Gray

More Esgargot stuff would be great.. somehow I never warmed to the MG.. but then again not seen much on it yet.. the Datsun project sounds interesting :)

Frans Wilbrink

surely not, these guys are profesionals, they do not make mistakes! ;)

Frans Wilbrink

Anything you do will be awesome. Just pick the thing that has the least uncertainty 😅

Tomagochi

Still luv ya, Everything you do is worth the wait......I even made a bracket myself....Must be withdrawal symptoms! (Holds his tea filled BOM Mug with hope!) ooh a 105 Anglia?

Keith Evans

It might be worth putting out a bloopers video! I’m sure there’s plenty of cock ups you’ve done over the past 10 years that we haven’t seen yet!

Brian Smith

The Peugeot rally car would be an awesome build!

mrsockyman

With out doubt the MG

Peter Morris

Keep it up guys, really looking forward to the updates on the Escargot and MG X-Power SVR!

Robert Seymour

I just want more "Binky" type content. I dont care if its a mini or bus or ford or whatever. Just more of the good old days of binky type content with attention to details, a couple hundred brackets and montages.

Lars-Sverre Eriksen

Glad to hear you're still with us. I think a restomod datsun would be nice... but the braver option would be to do it like shelby did with the AC... I reckon a datsun with flared and widened arches, a bit more of a stance, and modern running gear (with a suitably obnoxious engine!) would be just the thing.

James Aston

Happy to keep putting money in the slot. Great to see you doing this and that other than just Binky. Keen to see the next update as all are but the fun needs to be in it for you guys. I would love to see the Snail move forward. Go crazy after that. Nothing normal, nothing simple. Take in something extra binky.

John Lancaster-Lennox

Only madness that way lies...

Keith Hache

Datsun all the way.🤘🤘🤘

Cliff Bryans

Datsun with a 9000rpm Honda K20 non turbo engine would be a blast.

Scott MacLean

I helped build a 105E Anglia back in the late '60s in USA SCCA races and even a Trans Am race. I would be partial to your take on the project.

Larry Taylor

I cast my vote for the Datsun or the Ford, in that order.

Nick V

Wondering what's booging you all down the most? Behind the scenes of how you process raw footage and some of the editing process would be cool.

Stephen Thompson

I am a horrible person for thinking this, but with the luck of the project to date, I wouldn't be surprised if Binky gets crashed on the first drive on public roads. Some twat will pull out in front or ram into the back or something stupid like that. Love all the work you guys do, hopefully the next project takes a little less time to finish but won't complain if it doesn't.

Carr

I know how this goes, my own projects are bogged down - and I don't have fans or content to think about. I have faith that you guys will deliver when it's done, *and that's okay*!

Adam Stadnick

Hi guys, from Down Under! 🇦🇺 Thanks for the update; great to hear from you! I hadn’t lost faith in you - I think I have some small realisation of just how complicated Binky is - but what I didn’t realise is just how much other content & alternative project material you have to share, and ANY of those, in any order, will be eagerly anticipated by me, I assure you - they all sound amazing! BOM RULZ! ✊😆

Craig Lemon

All of them . . .

Jack Finks

I think this has been my longest relationship, ever :) haha Seriously, we're here for you. Also, did you ever get heat sorted in the shed? I know its though to do quality work when you can't feel your fingers. I think the world needs more people just getting something like this done. No matter what. Thanks, this has been deep inspiration just seeing what is possible on the other side of practical.

Carlin Comm

Sounds like you've had a bit on. Good to hear there's plenty to look forward to in coming weeks and months.

Trev

Chaps, thanks and understood. BOM and Binky were lifesavers for me during the early days of covid lockdown, so heartfelt thanks for that. I really enjoyed the untangling of the wiring loom and the installation of the electronic brain into Binky. Electronic is so much more reliable than human don't you think? Very interested to see the road tuning and options / trade-offs in Binky's ECU and handling setup (you know, the secret knowledge and practical hints that are so hard to come by). I just love the way you use real track data to measure the effects of tuning, changing one thing at a time. Simply great!! That topic alone could be the start of a whole new sub-channel. Go with the Datsun; it has a purity of design and so many possibilities for brackets, sorry, IMPROVEMENTS....

Ian Ritchie

If you need a hand with Escargot, I'm always happy to roll my sleeves up and get stuck into another DAF LF45 project 😉👍

Frank Hall

You thinking something bargain racement fun?!?

ColdHeart

Datsun sounds sexy, but the Escargot is also a hoot. I haven't lost faith in you guys in the slightest!

Hans

10+ years peh, my mini has been waiting longer then that for me to finish it :). Any of those builds sounds interesting to me. But we need to see more content pls. You guys are awesome!

Peter Hatfield

Escargot-Videos would be really nice, ...and maybe the Peugeot 205

Lukas Albert

Datsun 2000 Roadster!!!! . . . or the 105e for me :) All the best guys - I'll watch anything you put out but if I was to choose I'd say some metal fab guides would be great :)

Rob Hadfield

No worries fellas, I know how shite things can get, still here supporting you 👍🏻

Jon Weston

A lot of us have not been having a good time recently so don't be too hard on yourselves. We all would like to see Binky finished too, but in your own time lads. We'll stick with you. Us folks in Salop need to stick together 👍🏻

Jonathan Lyster-Clayton

Guys, you need a quick (ish) win. Yes we're all here for the lunatic builds that have us questioning how on earth you can fit that in there, but for your next project pick up a pallet cleanser. Pick something you can enjoy that's not going to fight you tooth and nail, that you'll both love working on and driving. The 205 makes sense, but other things could as well. Get back into the swing of it, and then pivot to something that's going to try and fight you like the MG. Looking forward to seeing the notifications popping up more frequently as you all gather a little momentum. You're not the first to have a project stall, hope you're all doing well soon, loads of love x

James Foster

Looking forward to the Escargot progress (I'm having a hard time giving up on the personal medium-duty truck thing myself); I dig the Anglia idea, but honestly, whatever you guys are the most excited to work on is going to be fun and educational to follow along with. Thanks for keeping on; I always look forward to whatever's coming along next, and it's always worth the wait, no matter how much I hate the waiting.

Jesse Burkett

In just glad to hear from you guys and that your keeping at it, i would like to see the MG or the Rally 106 first along with Escargot. All the best!

Oscar Zettervall

Please leave, for your own sake

Patrick Kennedy

I'm here for a long time, not a good time! Wait... The Peugeot 205 would be amazing to see made race ready and on the track, but the Datsun is a close second!

Patrick Kennedy

A video on the "interesting alternator" idea

Bruce

Know what guys, I, and many others, love the vehicle content but I'm sure I speak for others when I say that we miss your wee faces and your sarcastic ways. Look forward to seeing all your wares 😊

Deano

Hey guys, don't be too hard on yourselves. I have been restoring my 65 MGB for ten years and it still won't move under it's own power. I have ultimate faith in you guys, no matter what comes. Semper Fi.

Ron Walsh

I think all of us realised by now that you guys were going through some personal difficulties, based on the recent cadence of episodes. Look after yourselves! As important as I'm sure it feels to finish Binky, it should come second to everything else. I'm personally excited for the MG SVR, even if I'm terrified that it will turn into another Binky.

Simon Scott

Don't feel bad about it, life does as it will. Just keep trucking, as they say. Probably not literally though.

Pateon is incompetent and annoying. get a different provider.

Datsun all day long. But then again, I'm biased. Good friend of mine was a champion SCCA driver and mechanic in a rare Datsun 2000 Fairlady and I've always had a soft spot for those angry little roadsters. I wonder if you could shoehorn an RB in there somehow with the skyline AWD system.... It'd be like Binky's Japanese cousin.

G Stilphen

Escargot, more but shorter episodes if you can swing it. Rally style Ascona with an Alfa Busso V6 transaxle powertrain next ;-)

Peter Kirkeby

These things take as long as they take. You're not failing, the last leg of the marathon is always rough. We'll be here (and excited) when the next episode drops.

Damn Interesting

Appreciate the sentiment of not wanting to air dirty linen in public, but if you were to open up a bit more and communicate it would help. Many of us have young kids/old parents/dodgy marriages/health issues/day jobs - life happens to us all. 205 definitely- then go race it - I liked the race series footage.

Stu Allen

Angle box with a hoted up V6

David Beleski

Constructive criticism first - as some others have said, if I could wish for you to do just one thing differently, it would be to communicate better with us. Just a single photo, a single sentence, once every couple of weeks or so would do. It helps keep people engaged and keep frustration and feeling abandoned at bay. Other than that, I'd vote for the SVR alongside Escargot, but as I personally would be only using the shell and putting whatever running gear into it that took my fancy, our goals are likely far from aligned so do whatever pleases you. Just for god's sake keep us in the loop please!

David Yates

MG. I know a guy who has a container full of parts for one of them if you’re interested.

Grant Browning

Datsun Datsun Datsun

Sandy Thomson

Binky first, natch, then the datsun. So many brackets in that one, for sure. Hugs you guys, love youse even when you're not showing us your work. 🤗

Alaskan Rock Vodka

I'd love to see some workshop stuff, like wee improvements to make things easier, that sort of thing:) When are you in Ireland? I imagine you have a good following here! Anyway, I honestly don't really mind what ya put up, it's always enjoyable and I watch it for you guys more than the cars:)

Jake

I’ve waited this long, I can do more. I would like to see the datsun, maybe a light red to mod on it since you’re needing an axle and an engine and a gearbox anyway. Sounds ripe for a more modern transplant with a mild boost in performance but massively increased drivability. Hell! Get touch with that extremely lanky chap that likes to electrify ice cream vans and check the possibility of similar for the Datsun?

Russell Clark

Keep at it gents! The delay just makes the content even better. The ford anglia sounds very interesting!

Rory Jackson

I won't give up on you, I'll just rewatch it all again. I'm not owning up the amount if times I've watched it all.

James Chamberlain

Ouch! Please keep at it! I vote for the Datsun.

Chris Bowen

I know it won’t win but I’d love to see the dato roadster get worked on

Thomas Pennington

Got my eye on that Datsun, but wife says "turn the Opal shell into an electric car."

Bram Meehan

I agree. Do what inspires you. Excited presenters are much better than those who are just faking it. I don't know pretty much any of those cars, so I look forward to learning about it!

Kyle Everly

Agree. Don't let perfect be the enemy of... Actually releasing content.

TMoney2007

Binky first. Then the Escargot, and then the MG. Also, I don’t mind a bit less polish in return for more frequent content. Content is king, as they say, and you guys do it naturally. The sarcasm, the Monty Python references, the double entrendres - bring it on!

James Peterson

Ford Anglia 105E resto-mod definitely but after the Escargo please lads.

David Birt

Finish Binky, then Escargot, then MG

Anthony Ashcroft

Escargot aside, I'd like to see the Pug being done. Or the Anglia!

Liam Faulkner

Svr

Stephen Wagner

Escargot and MG please

Tony Harris

I'll not give up on you, lads. soldier on!

Ed Walters

That feeling of opening your email seeing Patreon/BOM and just knowing it’s a wall of text excuses and not a video.

J P

Just do what you do best by keeping us mere mortals in awe, & if the Escargot is in there all good love that old yella peril + everything else, were still with you!

Stuart Burgess

Dang, and I was just leaving instructions for my heirs on how to watch episode 39...

Jonathan Schmidt

The Escargot is my favorite distraction!

Alex Crouse

Creativity takes time and effort, you’re not just slapping go fast bits on to a mini guys. Your videos a hilarious and the design work amazing. Hope life gets easier for you all. Thanks again for creating videos I can watch multiple times and laugh.

Linton Hart

No rush, happy watching back episodes, just sort it for yourselves and we’ll be here for the ride. Keep your heads up, your stuffs great and it’s worth whatever wait. How we did it videos for me and escargot 🙂

Chris Barry

I would love to see more Escargot and some work on the Datsun 😁 really looking forward to seeing Binky finished. Keep tinkering away in your shed

Kristján Óli Emilsson

Honestly, the main thing I like to see is you guys having fun in a build (and the editing). It sounds like you have all been through the ringer on this one, I hope things improve for your sakes. As much as I want to see it driven (and explained how it drives by Derek Tam-Scott would be epic), I'd rather see you shelve Binky than kill yourselves to finish it to your high standards. Projects wise, my greedy request is a Subaru brumby/brat. MCM didn't do it justice

Dwain Frankel

Im sure e39 will be epic 💪🏻 If you think you can knock out the pug nice and quick maybe go for the easy win to keep the motivation high 👍 a bit of escargot on the side would be perfect 👌🏻 All the best

Louis

Looking forward to seeing progress on both Binky and the Escargot. Despite the MG X being an expensive project, I think you should jump on that next. Putting out videos specifically about the MG on t’internet will likely raise awareness that you are in need of parts - and there is someone out there who has them. Or at least someone who can point you in the right direction. Sorry to hear that you’ve been having a hard time. I hope you do not feel too pressured by the fans or patrons. While we are all chomping at the bit to see Binky finished, we want you to be healthy and happy, foremost. Looks like you picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

George Todd

You could also just sit and stare in the wall for a couple of months, to re-vitalize yourselves.. We'll wait patiently, and enjoy whatever content you'll spoil us with. 🙂

Søren Nielsen

The mini might actually be finished before I die. Wonderful. No worries and cheers.

Erik Ordway

I'm all in on the Escargot and the Datsun 2000 could be an interesting build.

Steve Watson

Hey Guys, glad to see a status update! Looking forward to whatever comes next, maybe the 205? It sounds like it might be a nice switch-up 'after' Binky? Although the Escargot is still one heck of a project. Happy Halloween! - You should dress up Binky next year for some fun.

Andrew Pearson-Roach

I here for whatever comes next matey. Don't suppose you fancy building a 911 Dakar type thing out of the Datsun? Maybe an engine swapped Defender on portal axles? You know, because you don't have anything better to do 🤷‍♂️🤣👌😁🤘

Just Craig

Whatever You decide to do next will be awesome!

Magnus

Escargot for sure.

Stuart Ferreira

I love what you do, and I’m keen to see the Escargot continue as Binky wraps. The 205 is probably my preferred from that list. More than anything, I’m glad you’ve not felt you’ve had to share, and I really hope you’re all ok!

James Turner

You're altogether too hard on yourselves! You yourselves often comment that the last 20% of a project takes 80% of the time, and that surely must ring especially true with a project as complex as Binky. Keep up the good work and I know the payoff will be worth it. I personally would love to see the Escargot be next in the shed, myself.

Bonald

You lot have spoken about the 205 in many episodes, personally I'd vote for that. I am most interested in seeing more of the escargot. Any way we get to see more brackets and elegant solutions to things that weren't a problem is OK with me. We all believe in you, don't be discouraged!

Bruce

yes please 205 Rally! thankssssssss

Malcolm Macleod

6am: With a positive attitude, I'll have a great day! 8am: F THIS PLACE Me, every day. 20 years at the same job will do that to ya. HAHA You boys are inspirational, even if for only having endured this project for so long while still being able to stand each others company. That in itself is a mark of good men.

Dan North

This

Cody Young

I too would like to see the Escargot making headway, and the rally car as an extra, please.

Steve Wilson

Demons? It's not like the missus finds you're throwing money at some Brits with a sheet metal bender, an angle grinder, and a sense of humor, now is it? If mine finds out about this "Binky" thing, she might cancel our Internet! Ain't goin nowhere. Looking forward to more Funk!

John Kinsella

Thanks for the honest update! Please continue with the level of detail and complexity that makes Binky the best build on YouTube. I want to see Binky finished as badly as you guys want. I also love the escargot. As for the next build I'm voting for the 205 as I'm building a Turbo 205 Roland Garros myself at the moment. But to be honest, everything you guys touch is nice to watch!

Rob van Leur

There have been Patreon memberships I have let go for various reasons including too little content but I say now that I have never considered leaving this little group at all. As for the next project, I have a tender spot in my power-pack for Datsun 2000s. BUT! Anything you take up will be followed with as much fervor as all your other efforts.

KD Smith

Hmmmm, I’d love to see you guys tackle a project to make a track-focussed classic.. the MG will be epic, so maybe use that and turn that into a track focussed beast using non-OEM MG parts?

Dave Lee

My vote: Apart from the Mini, work on the 205 and get "one part" sorted on it (aka quick win). Drive it around a bit to have fun and take us for the ride (ah la Taylor Ray style). Then while you're working on the Escargot, you can trickle upgrade videos of that and the MG out on a more regular schedule (not so reliant on a serial release schedule), and then if you need to fill time, throw a dart at whatever other part of the shop tickles your fancy. I think you're past the stage where you need to be hyper-focused on just one thing and can have a few irons in the fire as organic delays in those will cause you to have to leap-frog your content anyways.

Keith Hache

Thanks for the update. I am more than happy to wait. Stuff happens! Whatever you build next is going to be great as well. Keep going!

Dave Goodman

MG X Power SVR!

Hans Verhaegen

Good work takes time... and getting quality content of that good work takes 10x longer. Forget the youtube beast and the constant "Must make more content to consume" none of us get anywhere near as excited about other creators as we do about you when a new BOM video hits :) I for one would live to see more on that MG!

Brandon Emerson

Just keep bringing the humor and we'll be there!

Bob R Kenyon

Honestly, I just want to see any updates. The classics videos are interesting, but I'm here for the builds. I'd love to see more escargot, that was such an interesting project. But I'd be happy with anything. When I say anything I don't even mean full youtube episodes. Quick 2 minute patreon videos here and there talking about what's going on, what crazy ideas you're considering, sneak peaks of brackets, or even just an "We didn't get to do much this month" would be really cool. I've hung around this long, I'm sure not going to let a bad year deter me from hanging around longer. We've all had bad years, just hope things are looking better.

Speaking for only myself - whatever has the gnarliest machining involved. Half the reason I'm still here (other than the lovley tea and biscuits) is because watching you guys fabricate reminds me of watching my dad slaving over a hot lathe as he saved neither time nor money rust-proofing the family Subaru wagon over the span of 2 years while we made do with a $500 banger as the family car.

Cyrus McEnnis

Take a page from the Superfast Matt playbook, post ANYTHING! Even if it's what you had for lunch while you're waiting for the epoxy to dry. We like you guys. We want to know how you're coming along.

Jeffrey Hansen

Good things come to those who wait......

Pete Black

I forgot I was still a Patreon :D Stuff coming so I guess I will stick around! (That was a joke of course... I don't give up that easily!)

Joe Wilson

Cheer up guys, I'm here for the long run. We all have demons coming and life happens. 🥳

Like all good relationships, proper (and thorough) communication is key. If I were to give you a proper rap on the knuckles for anything, it'd be failing to live up to that standard. Moving on from there, though, I'm happy to see you're not all totally off the map as of yet. The mini was always going to be an astonishingly complex feat to conquer, and it sounds like the reality of that fact has come to light. The 205 sounds like a perfect "reset" to follow the mini. It's parked firmly in your area of expertise and would give you something to go out and play with too. Being a more "known" quantity should result in quicker content, which should also help rebuild the shaky relationship with a portion of the supporting audience. Just my $0.02

Real life comes before cars or YouTube content. No need to apologise for anything. I have no doubts that whatever you build will be fantastic.

Grant Turtle

I'm just here to say that whatever you guys pick, it is most definitively going to take ten years. And I'll be there for all of them <3

I love you magnificent goofmonsters, and will not cancel my membership. I'm ride or die, baby. Your combination of humor, skill, and lack of pretense make BOM one of my favorite channels. I mean, you guys taught yourselves to CNC-print circuit boards with home made equipment or some shit. That's fuckin' amazing. Binky is a monster of craftsmanship and problem solving. Keep kicking ass, and I'll keep watching. I am definitely looking forward to more Binky and Escargot. All of the projects sound awesome. Though I would recommend going with whichever would be the least insane for the next build, just to give yourselves a bit of a break from the grind.

Frank L Copeland

Good to hear from you guys and am really glad that you’re muddling your way through to other side. Really looking forward to the next Binky episode. As for the multiple choice question, they all sound like good projects. Maybe I’m just starved for next level funk montages, but I’m leaning towards any project that allows you to post videos regularly. Cheers boys.

Tommy

I'm sure most of the members here just want content, any content will do. The silence from you guys can be infuriating at best, months without so much as a text update as to what's going on. You don't need to air your problems, just a few lines every few weeks to let us know things are still moving. It takes like 5 minutes. As for the next build, anything lads really. Just want to see some bracketry.

Gareth Lord

I vote for the MG X Power SVR =)

Slikk

Bad Obsession Who? Just kidding. The Binky build has been fantastic so far, and with another ep on the way, who am I to refuse myself the opportunity to watch all 937 episodes all over again? After all, I need to refresh my memory as to where you've got to! Oh yeah, the clocks. That was it. Onwards and sideways!

Alex Degnen

Ignorant American here. There was a racer in Colorado with an Escort 105e (I call it the Harry Potter car). It was a tube chassis car, big tire, 565” BBC on Nitrous. So I’m biased. I’m hoping for another Binky-caliber build. It’s what sets you apart from other content creators. There are plenty of builds lacking the quality and attention to detail that exists on Binky, it’s what sets you apart. Lean into it. Just my $.03 cents

Bubba Hyde

Well I guess something is better than nothing. Seeing Binky being finished is #1 and the escargot is #2. I have not yet cancelled the (albeit small) monthly donation because I hoped for some sign of life. Glad you updated but it’s the videos I’m looking forward to.

Per Roswall

I love you lads and I will be here to the bitter end. Your dedication and hard work are an example to us all. Looking forward to some great content! Personally I'm interested in seeing what you'd do to the Anglia. The weirder the better.

Matthew Wilson

You chaps should do a collaboration project with Allen Millyard. If you're lucky his missus will make you some cupcakes!

Matt Friend

You guys are too hard on your selves. Yeah the video drops have been inconsistent, but you never promised anything in terms of regularity and we're just happy to help along with our patreon donations, and ready and eager to watch, but .. i don't think anyone is sitting and bitching about the frequency. Stuff happens. We're all humans. Just do your best, and that's all we ask. And stop.feelimg guilty! :-).

Sebastien Tremblay

Thank you for the candid honesty. Projects are about the journey, not just about the destination and on the flipside I can understand the frustrations of others with not seeing updates on Binky as of late. Very much looking forward to the forthcoming videos all the same! As for the suggestions on offer post Binky, I would say the Ford Anglia.

Jitesh Mistry

The Datsun sounds intriguing, as does the Anglia...
