Howie Did It - An Experiment in 3D Printing

Faced with the reality of having to make a complete set of extended wheel arches for Binky, a chance meeting with a mad Spaniard gave us pause for thought. What if we could get someone else to do it? That was the main motivation behind this experiment in creating a bespoke body kit from 3D printed plastic.

Thank you for your amazing support this year; it's been rather challenging for most of us. Hopefully 2021 will see us back to normal and we're determined to finish the Mini. It's completely painted now, except for one or two "flourishes" that Nik has decided to add so that's happening right now. Episode 33 will air in mid January and then we've just got to put it back together. (And finish the wiring, make a dash board, get the interior trimmed, make the carpets, wire the clocks, make the power steering pipes, and myriad other finishing touches...)

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas wherever you are and whoever you're allowed to be with.

Cheers!

Nik and Richard.

Yes. The final colour is going to be British Racing Pink.

Did I see....pink at the end?

I love these arches! I knew the yellow ones had problems but I always thought they were bucks for eventual fiberglass arches and I expected you to deal with their inadequacies then. Well, whether these new set become permanent or bucks for fiberglass, they are better than the yellow set. Good job! I wonder if they could be strengthened with a layer or two of fiberglass over them?
