Patreon Finally fixed its Major Flaw!!
Added 2015-12-10 23:16:27 +0000 UTCAs you guys know I made a goal to upload multiple videos a week when I reached $1000 dollars on Patreon. You may have also noticed I've been sitting at $1000 or over for longer than a month, and now it dropped to $800.
This is because Patreon was basically a liar. I never really reached "$1000" and I still haven't. It was very frustrating seeing it listed and my goal as accomplished when it wasn't true.
Basically they have updated their system to show closer to what you *actually* receive now from supporters. You see Patreon takes a fee (5%), credit card companies take a fee(5-9%), and a large chunk of pledges "decline" every month. This is why the old number wasn't close to accurate (I think it was listed around $1200), but I had to pretend it was because patreon claimed I reached my milestone goal and people began congratulating me on it! This just made it too difficult to explain that the public number has always been waay off.
Anyway that's all been fixed now! I'm happy to see them update their system so us creators don't "appear" to hit our goals months before they actually happen :).
Thank you for the continued support guys! My backpacking excursion is almost over and I'm excited to get back into making much more content!
