Cards I've made in 2023!

I was waiting to share all of these cards AFTER they'd been delivered to their owners, due to several of their owners being patrons (hello, you sneaky sweeties, thank you! <3). 

First, a couple of spring flowers for my friends Beth and Karen:

I remembered to take some progress photos of these!

This next one was more of a collage. This is my brother and sis-in-law's anniversary card, which is a drawing I made them for their wedding and then turned into a bunch of cards so I could alter them yearly for their anniversary! SOMETIMES I THINK AHEAD.

Last year they acquired their golden doodle, Luna, so I added Luna to the card along with her fancy pink accessories. Instead of re-drawing her, I printed out a scan of their Christmas gift and carefully cut + rubber cemented her face to the card.

Which Christmas gift was that? Oh you know, the one I forgot to share with Patreon. I made very large ornaments of everyone's dogs last year!

My little cousin got married in March and I really wanted to draw her and her new husband as a card for them:

Somehow I didn't scan this before I sent it, so all I have is this photo of Myron holding the card, proving how many of his most defining characteristics I missed... but they loved it all the same. :)

If you've seen my face before I think you can just trust how much this looks like my cousin Lisa - everyone I met at the wedding asked if we were sisters. We're a big-teeth-smile family!

Last is this card I made last-minute for our beloved Ryan on his birthday:

My dad once called my friends "a bunch of gorillas," and when I told Ryan this he was like "Oh, he was DEFINITELY just talking about me." He's right. I was about to draw him as a gorilla, but then I twisted it to make him a member of The Gorillaz. Not my best work, but it was fun to draw!

That's all! I just wanted to make a public post for y'all so that people who are only "following" this account could see something for once. ;) 

Speaking of which, Patreon updated their "follow" options - it's now called "Join for free." It's the exact same thing as "following," just worded a little differently, and you'll get to vote in polls (but you'll still need to be a paying member/patron in order to comment on posts, and of course the paid-tier content will stay behind a paywall). So don't be alarmed if you notice a subtle change in the name of your "tier!"

BTW, I made most of these cards during my weekly Art Night, a loose social gathering where my friends and I make whatever we want from 7 pm to midnight and listen to music and eat snacks and stuff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND starting your own Art Night!
