Elephant Town Chapter 12 (pages 21 & 22)

There she is. :)

Chapter 10 was just added to the website, in case you're following along & re-reading over there!

(And thanks to all the $5+ patrons who reassured me that absolutely no one would have noticed the effed-up background. ;)

Or maybe just the cat's tail coming into frame? That cat's so quiet there might not even be sound of their paws.

I'm a public librarian and this feeling of social exhaustion is v v familiar

Cats always seem to know when their person needs them.

maybe "pad pad pad"? less of a onomatopoeia but more obviously a cat, idk.

Amy Crook

Miranda's vibrating so much at that point that I just made an assumption. That's on me. :D

Ruth Merriam

Oh! Funny, I meant for the "pat pat" to be the sound of the cat patting softly over to her! I may have to move that; Miranda wouldn't think of summoning the cat over (although I sure as shit would!).

Danielle Corsetto

We'll find out soon. :)

Miranda's space is an oasis of silence and tidiness. The kitchen (as you now show us so magically) is perfectly sorted. Nothing is cluttered. There are few things to suggest a life being lived. And here come Nicole and a kitty to wreak havoc with that static state. I'm beginning to appreciate the idea of something overtaking the aunt's voice in Miranda's psyche. It's time to live a little, woman! Loving the little "pat pat pat" on the thigh.

Ruth Merriam

Thank you for more Miranda! I hope in the future we find out her favorite teas!

How could we possibly notice that impeccably drawn background when there is a long, glorious purr connecting all those panels together? - - Neal

How old is Miranda?

I think this is the most we've ever seen Miranda say unprompted. And I love that the quality she appreciates about the cat is that it's quiet.

Lisa

She feels autie to me, eeeeeeee!

Reese

*very quiet squeak of glee* Mirandaaa! Incredibly precious, I love her 💚 Here she is indeed! I totally relate to that fuzzy, foggy brain feeling after too much people-ing, and my cat is a big help in recovering as well.

Katie McMahon

She and the kitty cat are really very well matched. <3

Joanna

what a lovely moment... I love her so much 💕
