Chapter 12 (pages 16 & 17)

One of Nicole's greatest traits is naming things. (Inspired by Luke's attempt to make a stromboli from scratch earlier this week.) (Also apparently Stromboli is uppercase?? And maybe not everyone uses that word?? I never heard it until I started dating this Pennsylvania boy, so, if you don't know what it is, hereletmegooglethatforyou.)

I spent a lot of the week catching up post-vacation and finally implementing a comment section on the Elephant Town site! So now if you wanna go revisit Early Miranda*(Chapter 8 just went up), you can comment below the comic whenever you wish!

I know comment sections are generally avoided these days, but everyone is so good and so civil at the Girls With Slingshots site, I figured Elephant Town deserved one, too. :)

(*Also I just realized "Early Miranda" is actually "Miranda from Last Night," this comic really does move at an elephant's pace!!)

I'm soooo curious to see where Nicole and Miranda's characters go! :) I've def been on the Nicole end of less extreme versions of the reserved/boisterous dynamic and I want to believe they will learn from each other!

I am not a Nicole lover because I feel I *was* Nicole and learned better. Yeah, you gotta be you, but you gotta also respect others' boundaries. I look forward to her growth.

My world is full of Nicoles.

Ha, the difference in their steps! :) And you could get Stromboli in Minnesota, so it's around for sure. Seen recipes on the internety thing as well. - - Neal

Hahaha YESSSSSS one Nicole lover!!

Danielle Corsetto

I love Nicole lol

Magnolia Porter

Nicole is SO LOUD. I would be cringing any time I was around her. Also, I've heard the word "stromboli" but I never knew what it was. I've learned something today.

Panzarotti! Geez Italians come up with the best names.

Now I want a panzarotti like I used to get in 1977. Nicole has the absolute *worst* boundary issues. I can almost hear Miranda thinking, "But I'm not even sure that I have a cat, yet. And I can't even afford food for it."

Ruth Merriam

I was told a stromboli is a calzone that *must* contain meat. But that may be just a Massachusetts thing.

Strombolis are good, but I grew up eating a particular regional variant: https://www.nicolapizza.com/ It's so tied in with my memories of summers in Rehoboth Beach... every time we visit there now, we buy a case of frozen ones to bring home...

Ahh!! Since creating her, I've seen SO many Mirandas, both onscreen and off! Glad you caught a glimpse of one of them. :)

Danielle Corsetto

I tell my cats they are rolly polly Stromboli all the time :D

When I first saw Miranda, I wondered who had the facial features to inspire that representation. I could kind of imagine it but I had never seen anyone who looked like what I was imagining. Then I tried a new restaurant and there they were. I saw this server and saw Miranda. I was kind of elated to recognize them but I had, of course, to keep it to myself because telling someone they remind you of a highly stylized cartoon figure might not be taken as a compliment though that's the only way I would have meant it. Anyway, at least one "Miranda" exists in this world, and they were very nice.
