ELEPHANT TOWN!! (<-- all caps because it's been A MINUTE) Chapter 9

Hello hello, the next chapter has begun!! There won't be an update next week because of the studio tour I'm part of this coming weekend, but I couldn't wait any longer to start the comic back up. I missed Kris!! Partially because I'm living vicariously through Kris in that last panel. What secret compartment are you supposed to slide your boobs into in pigeon pose, I'll never know.

The Elephant Town website is still edging towards finishdom, so I'll keep these Patreon updates public until the site is ready, at which point my Monday updates will be behind a $2 paywall. More on that later! For now, just, y'know, contemplate how a boob is supposed to lay flat on a shin. And tell me if you find the answer.

Hello very good comic I am a creator and I publish horror story based on real life I hope you like it and if you want to go see some of my stories https://www.patreon.com/Miedointeso

Ahaha I'm so glad you can tell, because I took MULTIPLE VIDEOS and screen capped all the best shots, and now a dozen screen caps of my be-yogapantsed crotch are on my iPad!

Danielle Corsetto

I am just really tickled as I consider how much time you spent staring at your own crotch, upside down, to get those seams just right

Cat McAteer

Yessss I'm glad someone can relate!! We've all been there... in plow pose.

Danielle Corsetto

Good crossover, hah! Just a little candle. :)

Danielle Corsetto

You've perfectly captured the "spacing out while gazing at the crotch gusset of my yoga pants" feeling.

I can't decide if on page 2 here if it looks more like the yoga teacher has lit a cigarette or opened a cold frosty one. ;) Perhaps it is some of that forbidden smudging that is being talked about across the dimensional barrier on GWS right now!

I think that's what I've started doing, too?! Funny, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm realizing that I don't... really... think about it!

Danielle Corsetto

I SUPER appreciate when a yoga teacher says something about where the belly might be in this pose, so here's how to move with that... instead of acting like everyone's the same shape! But yeah, they don't catch everything, and we sure learn a lot about our own quirks, don't we!

Danielle Corsetto

Oh UGH NO THANK YEW!!

Danielle Corsetto

I love that this conversation is happening! I put my arms forward enough that my boobs can rest behind them and in front of the bent leg.

I think I put my ribcage on my leg for pigeon and then my boobs have a compartment between shin and floor? So, there's still some squishing, but also some alleviation. I could also be making that up while overthinking it because of this comic 🤣

I'm still very new to yoga, so this is something I struggle with constantly! Both my chest and my stomach - I'm quite soft and huggable, and I have to adapt a bunch in order to work around my extra padding.

A question for the ages...

Hugh Eckert

Yes, Katherine, exactly! I do both barre and pilates, depending on who's teaching Monday night classes that week (tends to rotate out every couple months) , they both do those sets of exercises in the name of working the back. One of the teachers also tends to sneak it into stretching, so you think class is done and you're stretching out but then she throws in "oh while we're on our stomach, let's slip in a little back work!"

Sheri Spangenberg

There is a whole mess of moves in Pilates that use locust pose as a start position, and I hate all of them, especially double leg kick. Between the boobs and all the bony bits pinned painfully to the floor, I could happily skip back extension altogether.

Katherine Sippel

ugh yeah, so uncomfortable! In bar you're not even just holding it, you're lifting and lowering and moving arms in lat pulldowns, or alternating leg and chest lifts. And it just makes me feel like i'm being smothered by my own boobs. betrayal!

Sheri Spangenberg

UFF yeah, locust pose in yoga - I'm not a fan either! I'm more comfortable with bow pose - reaching back and holding your ankles to lift off - than I am with locust. For a different reason, mind you - locust for me is just "how many bones can make contact with the ground" - ribs and hip bones feel like they're being staked to the floor with a rubber mallet!

Danielle Corsetto

I don't think i'm flexible enough to flatten down in pigeon pose enough for my boobs to be a problem. However i HATE doing the back work moves in barre where you lay on your stomach and are supposed to lift your chest up with arms in superman pose. It's just squishing and unsquishing boobs, chest never actually leaves the floor

Sheri Spangenberg

That's my go-to move! Until I find out the combination to the trap door in the floor.

Danielle Corsetto

Try both. Pick the one that feels most comfortable for you. Slight variations in poses like that allows you to explore and stretch different body part. You might discover that you enjoy both for different reasons and then continue to do both variations in your daily practice.

narF

….googles pigeon pose.

Asking the important questions here

I just put my boobs on the floor. Usually on either side of my leg ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
