48 Hour Comics Weekend! Little promotion to share. :)

I spent last night drawing up a little 48HCW promotion to get people onboard. (Including Pip and Ollie, of course.) Promoting this is somewhat selfish of me, as I feed off the excitement of having a bunch of people doing the same tough project I'm doing. ;)

Here's the Instagram post and the Twitter post in case you wanna RT/share!

24 pages in 48 hours can mean anything, by the way; I'm hearing from cartoonists who wanna color 24 pages, or draw 24 sketch cards, or crafters who'd like to make 24 of something completely different.

Are you thinking about participating this weekend? Share in the comments what your goal is, even if it's just a rough idea!

Yeah, that's what we're thinking: 12 LEGO with Dad and 12 Playdoh with Mom, mixed and matched over the 2 days. :)

Mix it up? Just have a total of 24 at the end... (but not LEGO/Playdoh creations, that'll never work. 😉)

Thank youuuuu!!!

Yessss achievable goals are the best goals!! And early happy birthday to you!

I commented on your instagram but here i am now with MOAR thoughts: My birthday is soon, and in addition to "Birthday Month" celebrations, I'm trying to make a push towards making writing my job, and do a Patreon promotion campaign, as well as get some things on my Gumroad, and an email list, and tell people how they can support me, yanno, for my birthday. So whatever I want to do should be in that vein - perhaps 24 smol pieces of writing, 500 words to 3-4 pages, maybe some poems, as finished .pdf files in a folder. I can write new or dig in old writing to find ideas and chunks of words, as long as it gets to a coherent pdf that can read as its own thing or part of a thing.

My cats used to murder crickets, too - but leave a single leg lying on the carpet. Maybe they wanted to share?

Love the "cricket murder"! Kiddo is now debating between 24 LEGO creations and 24 Playdoh critters. Either way, should be fun!

I've now publicly committed to my 24 sketch cards, so, fingers crossed! I'm older than you, so I need more rest between art sprints. ;)

Yeah, I'm thinking I might hold a 48HCW sometime in the future as a way to get a story out AND give others the opportunity to join me and challenge themselves, too! You know I'll post it here first if I plan one another day. :) Have fun with your monthlong challenge, though!!

Wish this was some other time than october! I always do Mab's Drawlloween club/inktober. I know i COULD make it a spooky comic or something, but that'd kind of throw off the rest of the month, having two days of it not really part of the series. I know there's no way I'd be able to do a dralloween drawing AND try to crank out a comic all weekend. Maybe I 'll revisit the prompt list and see if I can come up with a comic idea for each prompt, just stretch it out over the month

Ahh that's great!! Yeah man, just draw the minimum it takes to tell the story (that's what I'll be trying and inevitably failing to do) and focus on that writing! If nothing else, it'll help you stoke those writing fires. :)

I love this so much! And I’m very excited to see all the amazing art work that comes out this weekend. I have extremely minimal drawing talent (hello stick figures) but am going to try and participate too! I’m attempting to write a book (as is everyone and their mums) and have just been sitting stuck in the first section for a year. Trying to make it perfect. This is the perfect motivation for me to try and write 24 NEW pages this weekend. Thank you for the inspiration to blouse myself it’s what I need!!

Man, caught and ejected four crickets last night. Wish we had a cat.

Tudza

Mmmm, cricket murder.
