Elephant Town Chapter 8 (pages 8-9)

An exciting evening with Miranda. ( Wait for it... )

Speaking of waiting for it, DID YOU KNOW that the more locations and lighting situations and items you put on a page, THE LONGER IT TAKES TO COLOR THEM?? I guess that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm glad I didn't stay up last night to finish these because I would've gone to bed when the sun came up. Thank you for being so patient and waiting for these today!!

Ahh I'm so glad you caught the mini cat cameo! (Can you tell I'm playing catch-up today?!)

Danielle Corsetto

I really liked the little cat (cameo?) on the Tea box, and agree that the lighting is amazing. As are the backgrounds.

Ohhhhhhh, the light through the trees just makes me yearn for autumn to be here. I'm with Miranda and compulsively ticking off the chiming of the clock tower, although I don't think I'd stick a finger in my tea cup. Guess she's checking the temp?

Ruth Merriam

gah! way to torture a gal!!

Me, too!

David Neale-Lorello

Miranda really needs Something Wonderful to happen to her.

David Neale-Lorello

There's no answer at all except that I'm glad that you're curious. ;)

Danielle Corsetto

I wonder if the eyes in the 2nd panel are the same kitty who hissed at Paul. Also I guess Nicole may be about to knock on the door, since the clocktower dongs say 8 o'clock which is the "agreed"-upon time.

THAT'S ALSO WHAT I READ AT FIRST

I'm with Miranda. Sometimes some Cheesy Noods and Sleepy Tea is just the level of excitement I need.

I suspect it's different if you own the operation -- everything is your responsibility and it would be hard to stop thinking about it at the end of the workday, which could be exhausting.

MaryAnne Glazar

I knew a guy who didn't have a bed. He wasn't broke and his apartment wasn't small, he just slept on his non foldout couch. I regret that I never asked how he "entertained" any female visitors he might have had.

I am starting to suspect this girl does not have a bed.

I agree as a massive introvert and long time sufferer from depression I can relate with Miranda

Rob Wright

Oh! Also I've been meaning to ask! Is the plan for these characters paths for them to all conjoin eventually? Or are they just a few separate slices of life in this town that may have brief moments of overlap but that's not the "meat" of the story? Or are you not sure yet? There's no right answer and no preferred answer, I'm just curious :)

The more I'm learning about Miranda, the more I disagree with my "healthy introvert" initial judgement and am starting to think she would benefit from some anti-anxiety drugs and some CBT. Working in a restaurant is draining, but most days (even when I worked 12 hour shifts) didn't leave me melting into a puddle at home at the end of the day. But I'm likely just projecting myself onto the character still since she's so new and hasn't even really spoken yet :)

CLASSY NOODS (I know, cheesy, but I love it)

Reddy

CHEESY NOODS!!!
