Nice...it's no surprise that you put that much thought into it. It's a whole spectrum, and each one says something about the character, doesn't it? She knows the difference between further and farther, and I imagine she also knows that it's not important to correct people when they use the wrong one.

There are times like this where I sit there and think "would this character use the correct word?" and it's a very nerve-wracking process to decide whether to write the dialogue that's appropriate to the character and make yourself look like a grammatical dumbass, or just make it correct and pretend the character got it right by accident. Luckily, I think Princess Vanessa here would've paid attention to that lesson in class. ;)
