Elephant Town Chapter 4 (page 16) (kinda...)

I hope this psychedelic color scheme makes up for two things: one, that I only have one page to share with you, and two, that it's not actually the finished page! (Could you tell?) More on that in a moment...

The last week I've been busy preparing for the Over The Mountain Studio Tour that happened all weekend long, and while I knew I'd be splitting the gains with my friend Erica for her much-needed medicine, I wasn't prepared for how much that aspect of it would drive me to work harder (the stuff is VERY expensive, $1500/mo). I didn't set out with a goal amount in mind, but $1000 came fast and suddenly it seemed like maybe I could get her more than just one month's worth, and I kinda dropped everything and got a lot more serious about promoting the sale, which took a LOT of time... but it paid off.

Thanks in no small part to a lot of you, we raised enough money for Erica that I feel comfortable topping it off myself to cover two months' worth of her treatment. Thank you SO much for ordering art and prints and books and for spreading the word, and for your support for someone you probably don't even know. Trust me when I say that Erica is a real good egg. :)

(Btw, those of you with coupon codes, your coupons went toward my cut, not hers, so you were still supporting her the same amount either way!)

In short, thank you from me and thank you so so much from Erica. I'll be doing another batch of fundraising in a few months, you'll hear about it then.

Back to that mushroom trip of a page up there: this is just the digital pencil file with a first draft of color placed underneath. I know, I know, my pencils are basically inks, but I still wanna ink it by hand. I could've almost finished it tonight, but I think it needs twice as many bubbles and those take a long damn time in every stage of the process.

Next week I should have the final two pages of this chapter, and the finished version of this page will bump it up to three. Then, onto chapter five. We're almost done with one whole round of the characters! Thank you for your patience with me, and thank you for sticking around for this slow roll. ;)
