Elephant Town Chapter 4 (pages 12-13)

I'm sure this is relatable or many of you.

Hopefully the falling-deeply-asleep-immediately is also relatable.

(But maybe not the getting-sucked-into-a-chair part.)

My chair is more hammock than chair, though it's easier for me to melt into the couch with giant cat oversized pillow

I can fall asleep like no one's business when I shouldn't be sleeping, but when night rolls around, insomnia strikes! (I'm running on 1.5 hours from last night and wanna cry...) -Jess

Oohh I see the cat eyes now!

Something about the legs made me think of cat eyes peeking up at Miranda! Something sort of Miyazaki and catbus like. Especially since she almost looks smaller, like a little girl. I'm in love with that final panel!

Thank you for giving her pink slippers. I thought her toaster might be red in that first panel, but no. Miranda is a pretty traditional/retro kind of gal. Is it just me, or does the chair look like a head that's sucking her down into it in that final panel? There's something about the placement of the back legs that tricks my mind into seeing eyes. I love everything about this. Honestly, the pacing and warmth from the characters (most of them) feels like a balm right now and I can't thank you enough for that.

Relatable except for getting sucked into the chair. OTOH, putting a podcast on and lying down sends me right off.

I love the atmospheric opening of this chapter--it's worth the time you are taking. :) --Neal

I credit everyone here for letting me take my time and make this book exactly what I want it to be! <3

Aw she is a sweetie. I hope she gets some time and energy to write ♥

My favourite napping chair is one just like you've pictured, with wings to rest the head into, and arms to support the elbows .

Marc Pengryffyn

I can relate all too well, esp the sinking of the chair 😅 There's always the brief moment of consciousness and sleep that overlap. It's like the falling sensation but still something different? I've experienced that in a chair, on the couch, in bed... Even in a conference room lol

No, no, I get the sucking into the chair too.

Edward Clayton Andrews

Love the getting sucked into the chair
