Corks should be outlawed and all wine should be twist-offs.
Also, guys, eat your food it's getting COLD.

Ooh I didn't know the cork had a use beyond stopping the liquid from falling out! Berto's a very honest and frugal man, and proud of it. ;)

I went against how I normally approach glass and just dragged some colors from elsewhere in the panels and rolled with it!!

This is just heartwarming.

You check the cork for authenticity of product, so I'd look inside the screwcap for a secret message. ;-) I love that you had Berto spill the down-low on the pricing of the wine. Happy anniversary, indeed, to these lovebirds. What a beautifully rendered strip.

I LOVE how you colored the liquids in this chapter.

They are lovely! Also, the way you rendered the wine glasses on the last panel kinda blew my mind?!

I actually was under the impression that cork isn't an environmentally friendly option, but I never read up on it, and I didn't know about the... heh, "cork taint." Either way, corked bottle = have to remember to bring a corkscrew, while screw cap bottle = ever available wine.

Portugaul has a lot of cork so they make all kinds of things. I've got a cork purse my aunt brought back for me!

Yeah, just the outer layer of the bark is removed from the tree and then it's left to regenerate for like 10 years before it's harvested again. I know there's been some sort of fungus on corks that was ruining wines (called cork taint, lol) so the industry started moving towards more screw tops and plastic stoppers, which are also cheaper for them. But you can use cork for other things besides wine stoppers as well!

Cork is renewable? You've just made realize I have absolutely NO idea where cork comes from or how it's made. It's just something that exists that I have never even considered. (but I think most $10 wine bottles come with plastic corks if they aren't screw tops, but I won't swear to that)

That wine in the glass!! *chef's kiss*

Wait, why should corks be outlawed? It's a renewable and useful resource! Of course, it's also so much faster to drink the wine when all you need to remove is a screw cap.... Hmmm, things to consider.
