Elephant Town Chapter 3 (pages 3-5)

Berto has dreams. Big, tiny dreams.

Thanks to CompaniaHill for suggesting Chicken Cacciatore, a dish I'd never heard of and was tickled to learn the pronunciation of, way back when I asked my $3 patrons for an impressive meal to make on a pair of hot plates. Honestly it sounds like an impressive meal with a full kitchen!

A little heads-up to locals, I'm gonna be doing some public art next weekend in Shepherdstown, where Elephant Town takes place, and you're welcome to come watch me paint live with my friend Emily Vaughn. If you're within driving distance and feel comfortable entering my very mask-friendly and considerate little town, I'll be painting from 9 am to 4 pm Saturday the 15th, and a little bit on Sunday as well if I can.  I'll give more details soon.

Either way, I'll probably share the finished painting here, so you'll get to see it regardless of where you live or how much you really don't want to leave the house. ;)

I just turned 72 on Sunday. Got my first computer at work in 1985; Patreon is no problem at all (sites aimed at getting you to spend money are incredibly easy to use...).

Ha, that's exactly how I would do it! Thanks for supporting it!

Fifty years!! Well, whatever age you are, I'm impressed that you've been around that long and know how to use Patreon. That seems like a rarity!

I saw the first few pages, liked them, subscribed, then ignored all the posts for a while so I could read a bunch at once. Now I'm hooked and so excited for more!

Zena Darling

My first husband and I used to get chicken cacciatore in a little Italian hole-in-the-wall in San Diego. 50 years ago. Good bloody grief, how it flies...

MaryAnne Glazar

You'll see A LOT of them, so I'm glad you like 'em! They're pretty sweet. :)

So far, my absolute fave couple of people in Elephant Town! I'd definitely be happy to see a whole comic about them!

Theadora

From Peabody and Sherman I learned Chicken Catch a Tory hurr hurr Tiny restaurants could catch on, tho, if the pandemic continues... serve one person at a time, why not

Those are SUCH warm and nice pages, Danielle. Thank you so much. ^^

I was totally running down the list of ingredients and cooking steps needed and thinking, yeah, that's absolutely doable. You only need one of those burners but go ahead - schmooze the hell outta her. <3

Your character designs are soooo good!

Cab

Love the colors in this one. Very atmospheric!

Their banter is adorable, happy sigh.

the very first meal that my now-husband who-has-always-hated-to-cook ever made me was chicken cacciatore. Berto is automatically my favorite now.

Happy to oblige. Hope your lady likes it as much as mine did.

Real talk: we made Chicken Cacciatore when we lost gas and only had an electric skillet
