Elephant Town Chapter 1 (pages 16-end) *updated*

**UPDATED** I'm adding a selection of the still images below, for those who aren't feeling the GIFs!

That wraps up chapter one!

I decided to make these a set of animated GIFs instead of separate pages, so if you usually read the updates in your email, you'll want to click the link to take you to the Patreon post (each "page" only loops once, so putting them in the body text would activate all of them at once which would be an unreadable mess! ). Just click on that big intro image and use the arrows to navigate. Be patient, some of them are intentionally slow!

If you wanna re-watch any image, just click its thumbnail again (or click through the gallery using the navigation arrows). Hope you like this little deviation from the norm!

The intro GIFs will be on the website, and there will be one element of the Chapter 1 GIF ending. I might be misunderstanding your question, though?

Are the GIFs gone foreever?

Damn, good catch!!

Danielle Corsetto

Ooh, the animated GIFs are fun! Took me a minute to get the hang of it.

Nice! I loved the pace! So...was the indicator of the outdoor porchness of this room that the wall with the switch had lap siding on it?

Roarke Ponce

Oops, sorry! Wrong artist. 😳

I'm not sure whose grandma you meant to send that to, but I'm glad the stills made better sense to you!

Danielle Corsetto

Thank you for the stills. I don't know why, but I couldn't make heads nor tails of the gifs. I'm glad your grandma is better. ♥️

Oooh you're making me wanna revisit my Cul de Sac books. :)

Danielle Corsetto

The science hobbyist in me is slightly worried about that flash...

To add on, I loved that it forced me to watch a bit slower. Richard Thompson makes a joke about this in The Complete Cul de Sac, and it's stuck with me. I still forget to do it sometimes when I'm really into a graphic story, so I love the reminder. (And it definitely helped me appreciate the little bits of ambiance that you threw in.) <3 -j

I echo this! To me, the GIFs look cool, and stills are more clear. Really enjoying the comic so far!

Sara Testarossa

Thanks for the still versions.

NickG

That moon flash was something else

Cat McAteer

This was very cool! Thanks for adding the stills. I liked the effects in the gifs, but the story line is easier for me to follow with the stills - or maybe I'm just more familiar with the stills. I like seeing these different formats though

DANIELLE I loooove the moody gorgeousness of these!!

I also really liked the gifs. I think the moon effect was way cooler that way than in the still images.

Heather Cheney

I really liked the gifs. It very much captured that wee-hours exhausted dreamlike feeling. Especially her look emerging from the darkness, and the big sigh of the bedcovers.

Jame Scholl (@satyric)

I'm preparing to do just that, thanks! I *think* there's an option to edit them into the body text of this post and then make all patrons aware of the update; gonna try that first.

Danielle Corsetto

I thought the gifs were fun but any chance we can get the stills too (referenced in your earlier comment for the print version)?
