Something New!

I've had this binder since May. It's where I put all of the character sketches, snippets of story, and research I've prepared for the book that's been simmering in my head for two years. The book doesn't have a name yet, so for the last year it's just been referred to as "The Book."

Now that all of the bookplates from last year's Kickstarter are finally done (shipping out today!), I'm going to start The Book, and I want you to help me write it.

I won't tell you what the book is about, but I will tell you that it takes place in my little town of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and that there are four main characters. You'll meet them eventually. In the meantime, you're invited to vote on their fate.

While I write the script, I'll be asking all $3+ patrons to determine little details about the characters along the way. What they had for breakfast. What they forgot to do before they left for work. The most prominent smell coming from the neighbor's apartment.

$5+ patrons, in addition to having a say in what happens in the book, you'll also be privy to any artwork I make from here out, from character designs to environment design to my regular figure drawing practice.

And that's pretty much it! For the whole month of October, all updates will be posted for all patrons, so whether you're a $1, $3, $5 or any other amount, you'll get to see every new update I post (including #inktober drawings!).

I hope you like what I'm cooking up for y'all!

Definitely the phone because it’s so relatable- I’ve lost 4 phones ( in the span of a year) to pocket mishaps and it’s always so sad when you break the screen especially if it’s new and you are poor 😞

The donkey is intriguing and a phone is relatable, but mirrors have so much significance!

Miranda drops the ceramic donkey, which lands on Carrie's foot, causing her to flail her arms, smacking Samantha in the face, leaving Charlotte to burst into laughs, since she was safely out of the line of fire! Mr. Big shakes his head from across the room. :D

How cool! I'm excited! ^_^ And mirror. :)

Definitely the ceramic donkey! There's got to be an interesting story there.... Where did it come from? Did someone give it to her? Did she drop it purposefully? Inquiring minds want to know!

I was going to say 'phone' to fit in with you youngsters, but 'ceramic donkey (that she inherited from her maternal grandfather's spinster sister)' could be much more meaningful.

What a cool idea, lady!!

CERAMIC DONKEY!

Definitely a mirror. 7 years of bad luck is a great way to start off any new story.

Ceramic donkey! And the piece that doesn't shatter should be its ass.

It's about me?! Crazy!! ;)

I'm going for ceramic donkey, that sounds most fun
