Guys, I got the dummies for the exteriors of the books, and they. are. perfect.
When I photoshopped the mockup for these last year (backwards, woops!), I was worried that the mockup would look better than the end product. No sir, no ma'am. The end product BLOWS THE MOCKUP AWAY.
If you're someone who preordered the books on Kickstarter (before you ask: YES, they'll be available to order online this summer if you missed it!), you'll be receiving an update and your survey questions pretty soon. Artist Edition orders will get their surveys especially soon, because I need to work on your FOURTEEN THOUSAND CUSTOM DRAWINGS over the next few months!
The books were given an estimated delivery date of April. Unfortunately, we won't be shipping them out until mid-to-late May, because I made a decision that pushed back production a bit. The closest off-white cloth our printers had just wasn't close enough to my vision, so our printer offered to dye the fabric any color I could find in a Pantone book.
Luckily, I happened to have a pastel Pantone book handy (who knew I'd ever need the PMS code for a pastel?), and found the perfect color. It's so damn custom the printer didn't even have that Pantone book; they had to go out and buy one.
Anyway, I hope you can tell by the comparison that it was the right move! And ultimately worth a few extra weeks' wait.
Photos can't express how spot-on and beautiful the pink foil stamping and clear deboss are. You'll just have to see it in person. :)
