I feel like I was the only person I know within a 2-hour drive of Washington who wasn't down in DC for the Women's March this past weekend. Which makes me really proud, actually, because it made me realize that I know a LOT of really really great people. :)
Instead, I stayed home and did paintings of protesters for anyone who donated $150+ to Planned Parenthood, which I picked due to our president's urgency in dismantling the Affordable Care Act. It just seemed like the most appropriate organization to donate to at the moment.
The donations raised a total of $6,500 for Planned Parenthood! Which, as you can guess, means I have a lot of work ahead of me. Since I still have five commissions due from LAST JUNE, though, I'll be putting these down for now and finishing the other commissions first. TIME MANAGEMENT, WHOO!
Thought I'd share the process pics of the sample paintings I did to bring attention to it. I tried to keep it realistic for Hazel! ;)
