Happy Birthday, Hazel!

Here's a quick ballpoint sketch I did of her Tuesday, after my yoga class.
I make it a point not to get to know the people in my classes, because I consider that time sort of sacred; yoga is a very isolated, personal exercise to me, even though I attend classes with up to a dozen people in them.
As I was walking out of class Tuesday, skillfully avoiding conversation with my classmates, I considered making a shirt that says "I'm not here to make friends." This being a small town, I think it'd be unwise to inevitably become "that unfriendly yoga chick," so I won't do it. But I bet Hazel would... assuming she could be talked into doing yoga in the first place.

2016-03-31 02:18:56 +0000 UTCI think it'd actually be great to befriend one or two of the people from my class outside of class! (This town is ULTRA SMALL and practically everyone winds up at the Meck at some point.) I rarely make close friends in town, so I guess I sort of leave it up to fate? That said, I've definitely become closer with one or two people whom I've seen in class; we just met through mutual friends afterward, and luckily they don't seem miffed when I greet them with a quiet smile and "hi" at yoga class, then move directly into child's pose. ;)
