Hi-ho, patrons! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a helluva New Year's Eve!
It's been a LONG while since I've posted, in part because of the holidays, but also because I've been prepping to teach a college course in illustration at my alma mater, which starts this afternoon! (Depending on your time zone.)
While you'll probably see one or two posts relating to the class no matter what level you're pledging, I've added a new patron level that allows you to take a light version of my class alongside my students. For $20/month, I'll be sharing all of my lessons and some of the students' work along the way, as well as my own work (I like to give myself the same homework that I give my students so I know it doesn't suck). In addition, you'll be encouraged to engage in the comments section so that I can give you feedback and answer any questions you may have for me (about materials, process, time, your personal challenges, your relationship issues, etc.).
I'll be catering the class toward what I learn about my students this week, so I won't have a thorough schedule for a week or so, but here are some of the topics I expect to cover:
Once I develop a rough outline for the schedule, I usually allow the lessons to flow organically with the class, so I can't promise a rigorous "Monday And Wednesday We Will Learn Watercolor" schedule, but for $80 I think it'll be worth it. :) And of course, you can dip out or drop back in whenever you like, so if you just want to take a chance on one month, you can do that, too.
For those of you who stick to the $1 and $5 levels, I'll also be finishing a script for an OGN I started years ago, so you'll see bits of that (I'm only writing this one, but I like to include sketches for my artist), and if I put any more work up for sale on Etsy, you $5 patrons will be the first to know about it (and benefit from a discount code). :) After the OGN is written, I'll be putting together GWS books 9 and 10 (way overdue!), so you'll get sneak peeks of that progress as well! Thanks for sticking around, guys! This year is going to be a dicy one for me, so I need all the help I can get, and you're keeping me afloat.
