OBS Project Progress Report, September 2019

Version 24 has been released, and strangely, some of the hardest parts of the patch wasn't even so much our own code: it was dealing with dependencies, namely Chromium.  Read about it here in the blog post, detailing what went in to this version, what's been going on with us, and what's going on in the future.  A lot of crazy things going on.

Also, hope to meet some of you at TwitchCon!  We're going to have a booth this time around, so if you're going, make sure to come visit us and say hi!

Check it out here!

Thank you for a great program!

Hm, strange. Thank you for letting me know.

We solved it. Apparently when the hotkeys are set to "disable hotkeys when window is in focus", it also disables resizing docks. Setting it to "never disable hotkeys". Fixes it.

Do you have any specific instructions on how to reproduce the issue you're having? I can't seem to reproduce it. I'm able to resize docks even with extra browsers and such.

Lain

I love it and the custom browser docs are awesome. However, I can no longer resize any of my docks.

Thank you so much for sharing the detailed progress report. It just shows the amount of careful though that goes into a complex project like OBS. I think the idea of bounties is great, almost like a step towards employing a full time programmer. Maybe that’s another thing to think about going forward? You touched on something I’ve never thought about, namely the transition of you as the main programmer, to you becoming the project maintainer. It’s a tough one, because by coding less, you may find you’ll miss something you enjoy doing. I totally agree it’s necessary to have a project maintainer as the pull requests pile up, just make sure you don’t navigate yourself into a role you may not enjoy as much. Congrats on 24, and well done for combating all those browser challenges ;-)

Oh yea! I sort of wish I didn't use the "Link" type of post. You have to click on the link above the post.

Sheesh, took me a while to understand the link is the excerpt that is above the post! Doh. It is almost 1AM though so I can blame that right? Have fun at TwitchCon!
