How the Music in Black Panther Tells a Story
Added 2018-05-31 00:20:32 +0000 UTCIn all honesty, this was easily one of the best scores I've heard Marvel put out. It feels like they have a really serious chance to win an Oscar or a Grammy for this soundtrack.
But this was a really interesting video to make.
When I first went out to break this video down I looked at each individual motif that Göransson used in the film.
It wasn't until I listened to his interviews when I realized that he constructed the motifs as parts of an entire theme, which almost completely changed what the video was going to be about, but also put me in the strange situation where I had to build off of a composer's own self-analysis.
Either way, still really happy with how it turned out, and I'd really appreciate it if you guys sent Genius and Song Exploder some love because this video wouldn't be the way that it is without them.
