(I sent an unfinished version of this essay/comment by accident and forgot for hrs, my bad lol)
If you enjoy pop-punk like MCR/Green Day, etv, and are interested in the pioneer of emo-trap, you should listen to one of the OGs Lil Peep who was sorta the first to popularize modern trap with pop-punk vocals in the soundcloud era. IMO his best project/album is Hellboy. He is one of the greatest pop-punk/alternative hook writers of all time, and even his raw vocals early on were obviously special and before he died, he was close to going mainstream.
Listening to his stuff chronologically, even if you listen to some top singles and like his voice, is worth it to see his growth, his EPs and singles between albums have some of his best melodies, but his full length projects are pretty much his best work overall probably.
Just thought I'd bring peep up since you enjoyed pop-punk, although his last full project that just dropped last night/today is more pop-influenced, his music was very important and had a huge impact on the culture. Another once in a generation legend taken too young (he was 21 and two weeks old when he OD'd. I consider peep to be more pop-punk before trap, and less hip-hop than Juice, but he was a big Peep fan and his impact is clear.
Sadly Peep's first project, "lil peep part one", isn't on the main streaming sites as a full project, but it is available online and songs are on streaming from it. The streaming version of "Live Forever" which is his second mixtape from 2015, and the streaming version has 3 bonus tracks, but Crybaby is only missing one track, so it's a good start since it is peep's creation, 100%, including track listing, and is one of my favourite projects of all time, despite being recorded in only a few days. Or maybe check out the new album with ILOVEMAKONNEN for algorithm reasons. also sorry this was long I could talk about this topic forever.
