Hi! It's Chichimaro.
Sorry for the delay, everyone—here’s my first post for February!
I tried to get it done in time for Setsubun on February 2nd (this year it was on the 2nd, not the 3rd 😅), but I ended up overdoing it (put in unnecessary effort 😅) and missed the deadline by a day.
When it comes to oni, you just can't leave out Momotaro! So, I took inspiration from one of my early illustrations and gave it a fun twist. 😆
That being said…
Oni wa~ soto! Fuku wa~ uchi!! 😆😆😆
Hope you enjoy it! 💗
*Setsubun is a Japanese tradition marking the start of spring. People throw roasted soybeans while saying "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" ("Out with demons! In with good fortune!") to drive away evil spirits and bring good luck for the year. It’s usually celebrated on February 2nd or 3rd.
Momotaro is a famous Japanese folktale about a boy born from a peach. He grows up strong and, with the help of a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant, defeats evil oni (demons) to bring peace to his village.
