Dev Video: Camera Tilt Level Setting

In the past week, we've added a new Level Setting that will allow creators to set the default tilt of their gameplay cameras. This gets overridden by entering manual camera zones.

Tilting the gameplay camera can drastically change the look of levels! Whether you're going for 2D, isometric, or top-down style, it adds just a bit more handy customization. We also plan to add more default camera settings, including offset and field of view (FoV).

By default, we tilt the camera view to a value of around 20. This is to help players judge depth better thanks to Stuffy's 3D movement abilities.

Using an early level save, we've demonstrated this. Sadly our character has some wonky animation blending going on, as we're in the middle of gutting and changing the fall/land/airborne animations...

Note: as always, this is from an in-engine branch of development. Graphical quality, performance and gameplay do not represent the final version.

I'm so excited for this game, I lived on LBP 1-3 and just this clip alone is enough to take me back to the good ol' days. Keep up the great work!

This looks really cool! I wonder if there are going to be easing types implemented for the camera?

OMG THIS IS SUCH A COOL FEATURE!! I love the idea of making this customizable, especially since it allows us to make top-down levels. I don't know how the idea never occurred to me before
