Community Poll: Story Overworld Map

This would likely be in isometric 3D, with the possibility of Stuffy being playable or able to move linearly between level posts. This is common in games like Mario, Kirby, etc.
Our idea is to offer a more interesting way to navigate story content, rather than using a basic list of levels in the UI. Through this approach, we'd be able to immerse the player in the story locations and show Stuffy's influence on the world as you progress.
There is also the possibility of collecting Gifts in this mode and exploring hidden areas by slashing obstacles away. Features like the Needle 'n Thread, climbing, jumping, etc. would likely be disabled.
We'd be aiming for basic, simple, maintainable gameplay and a small scope.
This idea has been approved by some of our developers with excitement, but we'd like to get your opinion before we consider prototyping it!

I like the idea! though im worried that doing it would make the solo experience feel much more interesting than the community experience. Maybe let players make their own hub maps, kinda like the adventure maps in LBP 3, but that may be super complicated so dont push yourselves

2025-02-13 07:05:01 +0000 UTCI ADORE the idea. I can imagine something like walking across the planet to reach a level, much like Super Mario Wonder and/or 3D World! That's the kind of idea I see anyway!
