Trixel+ 2025 Update

As we head into 2025, we have quite a lot of work cut out for us! There are many important things to take care of, and as hobbyist developers our resources and time are limited.

Because of this, we are making a few adjustments to our Patreon service for this new year. This will help us to better focus on the direct development of Restitched.

Trixel+ Legacy

This tier is now hidden and can no longer be claimed, even when open spots are available. Future opportunities may bring this role back temporarily, though there are no current plans.

As a reminder, trixel+ Legacy members will receive exclusive feedback and potential testing opportunities as we get closer to needing QA support and community input.

Monthly Schedule

The schedule infographic found in our Patreon header image is no longer available. We are temporarily moving away from a monthly schedule and will post more organically whenever there is news or interesting things to share!

We hope to quickly return to a proper schedule once our personal and development time balances out, and will notify you when this happens! However, we just don't feel entirely comfortable posting a schedule for new subscribers when we aren't confident in our ability to meet those dates during the start of this new year.

Please note: this will not affect the monthly commitment of some posts like Soundtrack Preview, From The Vault, Restitched: Recapped!, and Asset Preview. You can expect these around the same timeframes, but the actual dates may vary per month.

Developer Diary

Though it's been quite some time since the last entry in the Developer Diary series, we are officially retiring these post types for now.

We've shared some very interesting and in-depth looks at backend systems, design practices, and more over the years. Those posts will stay up for you to enjoy, and may even receive updates later down the road!

Cpt. Stuffy Comic

As announced during October's anniversary celebrations, The Grandiose Tales of Cpt. Stuffy is sailing toward its final pages. This fun little side project has been a blast for us as writers, artists, and designers!

Ahead of its full release this year, we may remove its older individual pages from trixel+ as we prepare to repackage it into an improved, all-in-one definitive version.

Until then, we will continue posting the final few pages as they become available.

Restitched: Recapped!

These monthly development updates are still a priority to us, and we'll continue to post them regularly!

They will also see a minor branding update, including the logo and thumbnail. This change better reflects the in-development nature of these posts and helps to separate them from similar thumbnails used by our other monthly features.

In 2025, Restitched: Recapped! will be the best way for everyone to voice their opinions, closely watch development updates, and see the game evolve into its final form.

2025 Funds Usage

To offer a bit of transparency, the funds from trixel+ are still held securely in a private account only accessible by Trixel Creative Directors. With voting input from team leads, we decide together on the purchase of non-recurring expenses.

This year, like previous years, we will use these funds to continue supporting our online platforms and development resources.

With a wide range of recurring expenses and one-off costs, the usage of funds include: project storage via OneDrive, Trello membership for task management, Wix website hosting costs, Squarespace/Google Domains fees, legal services for contractual templates and advice, emergency funds storage, QuickBooks for expense and tax management, Twitter/X Premium for engagement/authenticity, Official Trailer promoted posts, Unity Asset Store resources, Git LFS for substantial project file storage via GitHub, Audiio music and sound licensing renewals, soundtrack assets, creative software licensing fees, and more.
