Brainstorm: Gameplay Enhancers

You may be familiar with our Blink Bubble teleporters, Trampolines, Fans, Proximity Mines, etc... These are all 'Gameplay Enhancer' objects that bring a new level of fun and traversal to platforming.
We're constantly thinking of new ideas, but we need your help now!
Let us know what fun traversal objects or deadly obstacles you can think of!
These should ideally be modular enough to stand on their own, and not rely on other existing systems too much. Because this is a 2.5D level editing game, we can only slot objects into preset layers of depth and they must contain their own triggers and scripts. This means they can't be too extravagant, and it should be easy for anyone to place them down and have them work instantly!

They could use a node-based system, if a loop is created there's just one side with the belt, but if it's a one-way line the belt loops around on the other side of the rotating cylinders (upside down). Speed and width can be set, and they can go horizontally, diagonally, the depth axis, vertically, etc.

2024-10-13 17:48:12 +0000 UTCA gravity pad could be cool, basically if an object is in a certain horizontal radius you can set the pad to pull or push an object to or from the pad itself. If you make it possible for the pad to be invisible to regular players it could open up for pretty creative levels. Just a random thought, glad to be here

2024-10-13 05:41:42 +0000 UTCI would really like to see a few things: - Fans that create a draft, causing stuffy to be pushed with it. Maybe the strength of the fan could be modular. - Stun bombs. (Hazard that stops stuffy - and other creatures if they are a thing too.) - Sticky materials; This makes stuffy move slower, but could also double as a wall-slide mechanic for creators and levels to include.

2024-10-13 02:29:44 +0000 UTCI feel like emitters were the bread and butter for most things dangerous in LBP, so something like that would go a long way, even if there are technical limitations that would hold it back in this game for something more self-contained, a flinging pad that would flip up a panel to horizontally launch things would be cool. could be toggled to only activate by player proximity or to activate on anything based on a weight threshold.

Basically a Sackbot. ) - Paint-ball gun - An optional setting that locks you on a layer instead of going between them - Record microchip ( Record moving objects ) - Water ( Basically the water system from LBP )
