Last month, I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when I suddenly had a new idea. It's a pretty good idea. I'm not quite as enthusiastic about it as I am for making video games--if my game dev passion is at 100%, my passion for this new idea is currently at 80%. But it is a much more economically viable idea. Games have about a 2% chance of making me a livable amount of money within a year, while [new idea]'s odds are about 25%. These are still not great numbers, but in this reality where you have to make money, it is the option I have chosen to take.

[New idea] will not have anything to do with game design, and it will not have anything to do with this Patreon. Game design will remain a side activity that I will devote time to at least once or twice a week, so I can more or less justify keeping this Patreon running for anyone who chooses to stay (no hard feelings if you wish to leave now). 100% of the money still goes to Chiaro until he's been fully payed for the Atominous OST. I will still be slowly paying him with money I make from other sources (we'll see how [New idea] goes).

As you can see, it is irresponsible of me to stick so closely to 'creative integrity', that I don't even have the money to compensate the people who work with me. I must keep feeling my way towards a better middle-ground between artistically energizing, and financially realistic.
