Helping another one of Faran's victims
Added 2024-03-30 22:01:36 +0000 UTCThis one didn't quite make the cut in the main video, but it's one of the first of Faran's victims that I overheard.
The victim's name is Joan and she was persuaded by Faran to go to her bank to withdraw $15,000 in cash and I could see him searching for a Bitcoin ATM near Joan's address. Once again, Faran kept her on a call on his cell phone, so I had no choice but to call the bank that I knew she was travelling to.
Luckily, the tellers were able to keep an eye out for Joan. I called the bank to see if they were able to warn Joan and she was still in the bank having, I suspect, a strong cup of coffee. This is the end of our conversation where she recounts what happened when she went into the bank.
She did report the fraud to the police and I'm told that this case was passed on to their counterparts in India.

2024-04-02 02:14:12 +0000 UTCLove to hear these successes! This is why I support you.. ANY of these calls could be to one of my family members, and I think more and more people at least know someone who has been taken by one of these scams.

2024-03-31 08:40:02 +0000 UTCJim, I've been following and supporting you for awhile. I know next to nothing about computers, other than how to use basic functions, so I'm in awe of your skills. More than that, you could have your pick of well paying jobs, yet you spend time helping those who have been lied to and victimized by lying thieves. When those you've helped refer to you as an angel, they are speaking the truth. Bless you Jim.😇🙏💪👏👏👏

2024-03-30 23:31:30 +0000 UTCWhen a suspected scammer calls me, I have my own script, adjustable to suit the call. When the person asks to speak to me, I NEVER immediately identify myself until im sure the call is genuine, and I usually ask who is calling, and if it sounds suspicious, I state that *My Name* is not available, and can I pass on a message. This usually results in either the call being dropped, or their script starting, thereby essentially breaching the data protection act by divulging potentially private information to an unidentified individual. I remind the caller that they are doing this, and this almost always results in the call being dropped.
