Accidental release of Patron version
Added 2022-05-08 16:13:56 +0000 UTCSorry, with all the confusion about release time, I accidentially let the Patron version go public. Correcting this now.

I was one of the first to comment as a non patron. I am now a patron.

2022-05-15 15:51:00 +0000 UTCNice one. It's always great to waste their time. Why not try to connect to that AnyDesk ID with the password they told you to set on your PC ;)

2022-05-14 11:00:29 +0000 UTCPS - I am pretty sure Jim cares less about credit than results. He just doesn't come off as the glory hound type ;)

2022-05-13 20:56:24 +0000 UTCBecause Marks video was the most entertaining and it is easiest for average Joe to follow. Please do not think I am in any way taking away the amazing videos done by Trilogy or Jim - but the hard truths are: Trilogy can be offensive to some since they are kind of like Bevis and Butthead hunt scammers - bless their hearts! LOL ....and Jim, whom I could never say enough good things about, scares people a bit. Average Joe does not want to admit that people like Jim exist. Personally I think they should just be happy he is on the good side, Sherlock rather than Moriarty...you know? Anyway - let us also not forget Messi and all the other undercovers that are still there and still risking their lives...credit to them too. Hope this helps and that people don't get too upset with my blunt explanations. If so - my apologies for offense - it was not intended to do such.

2022-05-13 17:26:07 +0000 UTCSomebody please explain to how Rober gets the credit for the bust in the newspaper?! The toys were funny and all, but it was Trilogy Media and Jim that brought these guys down.

2022-05-13 05:24:06 +0000 UTCI've been following Jim and Mark Rober for a long time, but this one inspired me to finally play with the scammers a little more.. I have always tried to keep them on the phone for a long time, but now I set up a separate VLAN at home with no access to any of my normal home stuff, and a VM that I can revert to a known state every time, just in case they get into something.. I setup Anydesk in advance with a very limited profile, and then today I finally got 2 calls.. I played dumb, and made them walk me through the VERY long process of explaining to a "computer novice" how to get into Anydesk.. 20 minutes+ into the process, I "Finally got it right" and they were able to see my screen, only to be greeted with Jim's video paused on the view of the call center.. So I started asking them if they were in the picture, and if they were there the day the roaches were let out, or if they got their hands blue with the soap.. The first guy just giggled and hung up (25 minutes total wasted) but the second caller today passed me off to his boss who started cussing me out about wasting their time, and something about "just give me control of your PC and I'll show you a picture of your mother!" and then hung up when I just kept asking if he was there for the smelly water bottle, and telling him the FBI was coming to get them all! As a bonus, when they connect to you, their Anydesk code shows, so I will keep a log, and see if I can remote into any of their PCs over the next couple days.

2022-05-13 00:53:34 +0000 UTCI'm still going through all the older videos first. So forgive me if this has been done before, but have you thought about using one of their photos are your desktop background once you realize who you connected to? Just to mess with one of them. Imagine the fear of remote accessing someone's computer to find your photo, driver's license, etc on their background

2022-05-11 17:25:36 +0000 UTCI agree, as most people from India are very poor, still dealing with a caste system. But ruining their family name is more important to them. They’re human. They know right from wrong like anyone else, but they often have to provide for not just their own family, but they have to take care of their elders (parents). Married or not, children have a responsibility. It puts them between a rock and a hard place, really. They want to do well and care for their families, but at what cost. If they are arrested? They can’t care for their family. By signing up? They put their lives in danger if they try to leave. If they owe police money? It’s just a cluster £uck of going down the rabbit hole. For the higher ups it’s like a drug. Until it isn’t anymore. When you start to ruin a country who have people of value, that’s an issue. And eventually $hit hits the fan when no one trusts anyone from India because of scams. Equally not fair to hardworking people who ARE great people. Who have worth. You can be a part of the problem or a part of the solution…like Jaani from TM. He fought hard to get out. He was brave to put his family at risk and himself to get out. I understand it’s easier said than done.

2022-05-11 08:49:57 +0000 UTCHi Jim, I love the work you do but I think you need to find a more effective way of speaking to these people that has maximum effect. Much of what you say has little traction with them. I understand from the above that the local police and authorities care little about this crime. Perhaps since you know their real names and family member names you might ask them for their thoughts if it was their parent [name] living in [place] that was being scammed.

2022-05-09 11:57:50 +0000 UTCI am not sure that asking about morals would make them actually take such a drastic measure as quitting their jobs. It's not just about making them reflect on their own actions because I'm sure they all have coping mechanism or apply whataboutism when actually confronted about the scamming business. I think that it's mostly a sociopolitical issue. It's a very low risk crime and provide great returns, so people with money will be opening offices all over the place, which are very easy to pretend to be legitimate business; authorities will not care enough because it's a nonviolent crime where most of the victims will never be in India on the first place, let alone fill any report about being scammed to Kolkata police dept., so it's like it's nonexisting. And also, I figure that if you are a citizen of Kolkata, that's probably one of the better paid jobs you can have, and if you quit, you can just pretend you worked on IT. Nobody really cares enough to stop it, or at least, nobody with power. And as long as it's profitable and risks are low, it's going to keep happening, like any other criminal enterprise

2022-05-09 10:11:32 +0000 UTCSeriously Jim, I think the very best part of the video is NOT when you freak that gal out by telling her name or when you say their location (though those were indeed great), but instead when you ask if they think that their parents are proud of what they're doing, working in a call scam center. JIM! This is true psychology technology, you could get them to quit! Especially in tgus era of labor shortages, they could be doing good for the world. If you could reach their conscience you could do it. Maybe speak with some behavior psychologists or detectives on tactics you could use? That could totally turn the tables on social hacking. Because you could be socially hacking their brains into doing the right thing!

2022-05-08 20:01:08 +0000 UTCLoved every minute of it. I also want to pass on a personal thank you. I received one of the "Amazon order/refund" calls the other day. Having learned from your video's, I called her out, and explained to her how the scam worked. She replied by saying "I was supposed to scam you out of a $ 1000.00 dollars today. I guess it is not happening". Credit to her for being so "honest". Keep up to good work.

2022-05-08 19:11:23 +0000 UTCBrilliant Jim, love what you do. Really would love for you to get in the bank scam centres again. They have no shame at all of what they are doing. I would love to hack them and put my sister photo on all their screens as well as other vulnerable victims. But like I say they do not seem to have any moral decency or shame.
