Big Fat Announcements + Updates!

There is a lot, but please read everything!

UPDATES REGARDING FUTURE CONTENT AND THE NEW WEBSITE!

As I have discussed, I really want to expand on the content I provide and step outside my comfort zone. Final Fantasy has become a huge staple in my free time and I would love to start creating FFXIV content on top of what I already do.

With this, I will be devoting more of my time to personal work, I will be hosting this work on Patreon for people to download, edit, recolor and alter as they see fit. I initially stopped holding downloads on Patreon because of several websites that bypassed the paywall, but at this point in time I don't really care if it gets leaked. I've come to understand that while it protected my work, it offered less to my followers because it created extra work I just couldn't fit into my schedule.

Patreon tiers will be changing once the website is updated, here is why:

I will not be holding "pre-orders" anymore. This caused a lot of unneeded work recording and tracking transactions, sometimes there were errors and people didn't always get what they purchased. "Limited sales" will still happen, but the files will already be completed and ready to be sent out during these sales. Limited sales will be a set time, rather than a set amount and will be pulled from the website after the time period has passed.

Limited sales will be announced at least 72 hours in advance and there will still be a WIP posted.

Limited files will eventually be placed back on the website no sooner than 6 months after their initial release. When they are hosted again will depend on demand and how often the original buyers are making use of them.

Patreon will have a single reward as previously announced. This reward will be exclusive to Patreon and will not be hosted on the website at all, ever, period.

Patreon will only have 2 tiers moving forward. 1$ tip jar and 10$ monthly subscription. The 10$ tier will be required to see and download any content, as well as receive the monthly reward. Polls will be hosted every month to decide the reward. Personal content will be considered "ala carte" and will depend heavily on how busy my schedule is. Download links will be hosted indefinitely on Patreon unless I find several users abusing them. (ie. subbing for a single month, taking 6 months worth of content and then unsubscribing.)

Patreon rewards will be sent via Patreon inbox as they have before to try and prevent links and abuse.

Any "raffles" I decide to host in the future, will also be Patreon exclusive. I have already confirmed with Patreon that this is not against their terms in conditions, given these raffles are not a listed reward for people to subscribe.

UPDATES REGARDING CONTENT AND THE WEBSITE:

I am considering making bases more static, why? To offer more customization and make them more compatible with other devices. We have a lot of iPad/Phone users as of now and for a lot of these users, some of the files are just too big for them to use.

So bases would be more static, only having the bare minimum needed for the work. Extra parts would be offered as a "free resource" on the website, similar to the "ears/tails extended" files I did years ago. The base itself would have the body, rendering, hairstyles and clothing (if applicable.) As far as customization for characters goes, ie: wings, ears, tails and whatever else, you would have a several other options to choose from all entirely free.

I am still mulling this over, because the last thing I want to do is making things more complicated when they've been complicated enough for long enough already, I will post an official announcement when I have more information available.

Regarding unused Patreon rewards:

We still have records of these and no, they will not expire with the changes. I will keep these records until every last perk is used. Patreon is will not be changing until February at the earliest.

Regarding custom orders:

Custom orders are being refunded around tax season, those who do not wish to be refunded and instead would like a "credit" issued, I will be matching the transactions 100%. If you paid 150$ towards a custom, you will be given 300$ website credit to make up for the long wait and the incomplete order. These credits will be recorded by me via spreadsheet that the buyers will have access to to track what they've used it on. Anyone interested in this credit should message me directly.

Regarding the files archive:

The archive should be fully update to date by the end of the month. As stated before, my old content is no longer the focal point of my work. Orders will be worked on every 2-3 business days. Orders will be worked on every Friday @ 6PM PST regardless of when they were handled last so they are current before the weekend. Orders made after this time will not be fulfilled until Monday at the earliest.

Regarding lost files, failed HD's and old transactions:

I will be offering back-up services again, there will be a 10$ fee for this service. For years we have reminded everyone to backup their files and for awhile I didn't offer any sort of backup service because it started taking up so much time. I am not asking you to backup your files, I am telling you to backup your files. OneDrive, MediaFire and so many other cloud services are free to use to do so. Large orders may or may not accost you a larger fee than 10$. Again, backup your files!

Regarding overdue recolors:

Anyone who would like a refund for an overdue recolor, please message me. I am working on these right now and once I start, I will not offer a refund.

Regarding upcoming discord changes:

I will be reworking the discord along with the website. Namely because I want this to become more of a "creative hub" that also offers a place to chat and game, rather than just all about me and my work. (I have a website for that.)

I will be looking for moderators at one point or another, as well as removing several of my own dedicated channels and redoing roles so everyone only sees what they want to see. ie: people who are here to chat, or play games, won't be pinged regarding content they aren't buying.

I know this might sound weird, since this server will still have my artist handle and will still have a lot of focus on my work, BUT with having a website, Twitter, FA and an email all dedicated almost solely to my content, I don't see the point in having the discord server suffer the same.

Regarding 2022 pricing:

Prices will stay the same, I will not be increasing my prices this year.

Regarding custom work, commissions, etc:

I will not be opening for commissions or custom work this year.

Regarding TOS updates:

The new website will have a new terms and conditions, as will the new content. The archive (and all the old work hosted on it) will follow the old, current TOS. I will probably update the wording on the current TOS to make it less confusing on everyone.

The archive content needs to be credited for the website and for the website only. (DauxyCheeks.com)

The new content will be credited towards my new accounts and the new website, not DC.com or DauxyCheeks.

I, of course, will make sure to help everyone with this the best I can and give everyone gentle reminders as needed.
