Listening to scammers using their own robodiallers

URL: https://youtu.be/zWKfGqvWhOg

I put this video together for a journalist who wanted to know about a scam where people are instructed to move money to a so-called 'safe' account to protect their money from 'bad people in the bank' or 'hackers'.

Of course it's all just a ruse to get people to send money to their various mule bank accounts.  This particular bunch were operating today (21st October).

You might be interested to know it's possible to listen in to these calls even without having access to the scammers' PCs. There is a 'MONITOR' facility on VICIdial... very handy!

The 2nd half of the video shows just how pushy they are as they try to convince an older man to visit his bank even though he's just been released from hospital.  I hope you find this interesting.

I love this old dude...i think he knew what was going on the whole time.....

"How much money is in your account?" "About twenty thousand." " Okay, that's not a problem." Why would those be the words he chose? It's like a wolf accidentally calling a sheep eatable. He was hoping for delicious but he'll make do.

Love this kind of content, as it makes you live the situation by the second. I usually try to keep scammers on the phone for I long as I can to do my part and waste their time as much as possible.

Perfect! Sounds like that "target" was too smart to be a "wictim".

It's really hard to feel empathy for these scammers when what they're doing is absolutely outrageous. How heartless do you have to be to try to convince an older man to go to a bank even though he just got out of the hospital? If you ever need eyes in Washington State, in the US tracking money mules, give me a shout Jim!

Jim, I managed to gain access to the exact same scammers but unfortunately lost access as they've changed the password of the admin. I'm trying to retrace my steps of how I did it in the first place. I got access to one of the agents first then found a list of all usernames / passwords but can't remember the link. As you are well aware their passwords are seriously weak. The only one with a decent password was the admin. Ps Wish I would have recorded what I did to get there so I could retrace. :D

It's hard to feel empathy for those scammers as what they do is truly disgusting. Thanks for your continued good work on this. You've a comforting tone, Jim. If you ever need eyes near the Zirakpur region, give us a shout.

Am so so glad he did aswell 👏

How heartless are people behind the robocalls... and I have received 2 of these calls on our house answering machine.

Stephen M

Jim, what would we do without you?

Sam Braden

and he has a full time day job! I love his dedication

indeed, they always seem very obvious when listening to Jim's videos, but everybody has vulnerable moments, and even people like "Rosa Smith" will succeed a certain percentage of times

I don't understand how anyone can expose older people to these scams, they don't seem to have any compassion at all. I think you're doing an impressive job of exposing these scammers and informing how these scammers work.

Rosa Smith got agitated RIGHT QUICK LOL -- That alone should give away the fact that these cats are scammers. Also, if someone were to call me like her, I'd hang up right away, and I'd CALL my Internet provider DIRECTLY to ask them if such and such problem is going on LOL

Yayyy it’s so good to get a new video from you Jim. It’s so sad to hear how these filthy scammers talk to the elderly. Then they get upset and nasty when the victim won’t fall for the scam. Kudos to the man that just hung up on them. Thank you so much Jim for sharing this and as always thank you so much for all you do 💝

It is disgusting how they treat the people they scam. It is truly disgusting, horrifying, dehumanizing and gross. The scammers bring shame to their country and their families. Our respective governments need to step and protect their citizens. I do not like the way they question why someone doesn't want to fall for their scam. The gentleman was being polite, too polite, it is not anyone's business how much he has in his banking. Thank you for the new video Hope to see more coming from this channel.

Rose Tyler

I'm glad that the gentleman at the end just hung up on the scammer, even though the scammer was becoming aggressive.

Sadly yes, but I'm doing a lot of background work to try to stop this at source. Keep watching this space!

Jim you do great work. But the content is so demoralizing.

Hi Jim I work as a fraud advisor...no really lol, for a large UK bank, I train new to bank cadets in fraud and social engineering scams and how we can protect customers. I use you as a ref for them and have learnt so much from you. Continue the good fight your a hero.

listen to how vulnerable that poor man is.. i'm not entirely sure how it can be justified that the onus is on him and those like him to not get scammed this has been a persistent problem for years now and it is not going away...i think it is about time the governments of UK and USA take some responsibility to pressure India to actually do something about this.... keep up the good work Jim Browning

First 😅
