I read the article in AARP and had to watch your videos. My husband and I started saying "That happened to us!" So much is familiar. The last few days we've been going in and deleting much of what was put on our computer. I have printouts of many of the charges/money we've paid out. It's been going on for a long time.

The US guy obviously knows about everything.......

So I just had an event using Edge (based on Chromium?) where a normal site had one of those crazy pop up things...and it locks edge up so I have to force quit it (task manager)...On the Brave browser I have a scrip blocker running...and the bad file came from this domain...so I blocked the domain in Pi-Hole, and it solved the Edge problem. quantcast.mgr.consensu.org The script was in manualslib.com ... specifically I searched startpage.com for "jandy del60 technical manual" if you want to see if it still there.

Hello Jim and thank you for doing such great work! Not sure if you see these or answer anyone but just today I received an email from my friends email address asking me if I had an Amazon account. This friend just happens to be a local police officer so I thought something was fishy. I answered him and said hi and yes I do. I then text my friend because I haven’t heard from him in a while and ask if he did indeed send me that email. Obviously he didn’t so I waited until I heard back from his email. Well as expected it was a scam asking me for $1,600 in Google cards to give to his Neice who has cancer and he was unable to buy due to a bank issue. Should I entertain this person or should I not do anything. I defiantly will not send them anything but is there anyway they can get my email information now that I answered back? Thanks for any help and I would be happy to send you the email if you’d like.

This cowboy needs to be investigated, not just for fraudulent activities but the risk he poses to safety and privacy in his local community. The American asshat knows he's dealing with Indian scammers so what else is he doing. This is what the local authorities should be jumping on. What worries me are genuine people who seek computer support and trust someone like this with their computer or phone and everything on it. It's a significant trust relationship between a customer and technician, and people who masquerade like he is and take advantage of that trust are just as bad as the international scammers with remote access. In some ways worse in my opinion. Thank you for your hardwork Jim. It's not easy to quantify how much I appreciate what you and other scam-baiters do but it's a lot. I know how much hurt and suffering these scumbags can cause so knowing people like you are building awareness really matters.

Absolutely love your work. Insane that this still works. I’ve noticed a lot of scams on IG for cannabis delivery . It’s insane the amount of DMs I get trying to sell. I did get scammed by one. Swear he was legit but hey guess not.

He's aware that these are fake virus alerts but the alerts from his company are genuine? And he's also fine with having all of his "technicians" in India? I got a little curious and clicked on the link to their website, but my Malwarebytes program blocked the address and warned of suspicious top-level domains that are often used by scam or phishing sites. Keep up the good work, Jim!
