The worst scam on the Internet?

** This is a PATRON version of the video, so does not blur the scammers, so please don't share! **
I've been watching the scams of Webzant IT Solution Private Limited, of Kolkata, India and they must run one of the worst scams on the Internet. Why? They will drain their victims' bank accounts.

Direct link: https://youtu.be/r2rB9eRVmec

This is a video guide to why their scams are so serious.
Also, please  check out Mark Rober's channel: YouTube.com/MarkRober
Thank you all again for your support.
Without you, I couldn't make these!

Jim

The worst scam on the Internet?

Comments

Awww, I went to laugh at their pitiful website but it's closed permanently....result! 😁

Sarah Ratty Pipkin

There aren’t many I’d love to bitch slap stupid but the female scammer is definitely one of them…fancy thinking it’s ok to yell at the poor lady you’re trying to scam?!?! The height of rude while simultaneously being scum of the earth. Well at least the scammer has some talents, even if their talents that leave people feeling sick and grossed out!

Judith Borghi

Listening to this guy sniffing is making me angry.

Danielle Folsom

What are 4/20's? Sorry for my ignorance. I just don't want to misinterpret anything since we may be from different countries. But I do agree with you on the rest of what you said. It also makes honest Indian-Americans who work at legitimate call centers seem like scammers. When Americans hear an Indian accent, the majority automatically think "Is this a scam?" Yet, there is a certain politically affiliated majority of Americans who make the rest of us seem like total idiots and jack-a-holes. It is an unfortunate situation of stereotypes for billions. At least, in my opinion, that is.

HnTR

I cringe when I hear people who I know are otherwise bright and articulate, bellow boldly- " I COULD care less!", when surely intending the opposite sum-up. And the number of the nook u lar clueless is not low...Flip

this makes indian/uk citizens even worse looking because of these scammers. most indians are sweet people , the remaining are a bunch of 4/20's

ArabianPrince

Nobody cannot agree with that!

Jim Browning

Is anyone else as incensed by the double negative at 3:48? im not gonna sleep for a week after that!

Dave Stowell

It is equally heartwarming and disturbing watching this. I see enough corporate bullshit and legally people screw over each other everyday but this is ...even more detestable. Extremely appreciate what you are doing here and I simply cannot understand how these people or the corporate ladder climbers that are willing to do anything to get money. How does one live with oneself doing this everyday? Someone help shed some light here in how these scammers think...

House

Ask your girlfriend if she knows anything about those purchases 😅 I busted an ex girlfriend doing this.

PapiKink

I've replied to you personally Naser. I'm not sure I can help here as it really needs the website owner to respond to orders made using your account yet somehow bypass 2FA. That sounds very fishy.

Jim Browning

Rich ODrobinak

Keep up the great work! True legend!

LucchiniSW

My sister-in-law had this scam happen to her, last month, "luckily" when she was made to go to the bank, the bank clerk had already had a scam that morning where a poor lady had been stung for £18,000. The Clerk asked if she was there under duress. The scam had been going on for 3 days and she burst in to tears. That stopped it dead as the bank intervened and called the police. They came to take a statement from her. She had nearly been caught out with scamazon prime a couple of weeks earlier, but fortunately they didn't succeed.

Em Wilcox

If you could find away to send the personal details of the scammers to the general public of Kolkata/India...

Well Done Jim. I have had several attempts from various scammers to get me to interact with them, but because I followed you on youtube I was aware of the scams, which is why I have become a patreon. ( It's only a small amount, but it all adds up, and hopefully more like me will become patreons to help you do this full time.)

Mike Hughes

The victim is the blond. Jim always un-blurs the scammers in his Patron-only videos. The scammers were spying on the victim through the webcam. Most likely they had her screen darkened so she (victim) couldn't see what they (scammers) were doing. It's a feature in TeamViewer -- allows you to darken the screen of the remote computer.

So is the blond the victim? I couldn't tell because it was blurred in the public version, if it was the scammer because she was female also.

Funhouse Mirror

Wow... another potential victim saved, and information gathered and sent to the police to try and get it shut down. This is exactly why "Jim Browning" is the only creator I support on Patreon. Thank you so much for fighting to protect people like Anette, I can't wait tp see all the people who will be saved from scams like this by you in 2021.

sarah4hp

You're a real life Robin Hood. I only support one creator on Patreon, and that's "Jim Browning". Keep trucking!

A Hoel

By the way, I found you through Mark Rober's channel! Lol I watched glitter bomb pt. 3 video!

Hope Davis

Great video! This one made my palms sweat when Annette didn't believe you...

Entr opy

Great work Man, real life superman

Another great video! Hopefully Annette doesn’t fall for any of these anymore!

Jim, keep up the great work and great job! this is another great video!!!

BRIAN THOMPSON

Great work good to learn about new and more dangerous scams

Zach Hoy

Thank you for the all the information and lessons Jim

Truly remarkable to what extent these scum go to defraud people. And I agree, the Indian police would probably ignore this - they would know if these chaps have political backing, and would stay away if that would then get them into trouble. Either that or they themselves would be benefitting from these scum and hence won't bother them under the pretence that there is no evidence/victims.

RM

I cannot honestly wait until the day no one falls for these things. You're the best Jim.

A customer of mine actually got “done” by this scam recently. While I couldn’t believe they fell for it. Now I can see why

Nicely done Jim! You are a true hero to the community

You are the Batman of he indian scammer world. Please maintain your OpSec. These people are dangerous.

Hyperballad Eyes

once again great work Jim!!! you are a living legend

Iain Ellis

Well done Jim. I would have thought the different different phrase would have been a dead giveaway but obviously not. Occasionally when baiting I hear that as well and cringle / laugh a little on the inside. It is sad that people actually fall for this and frustrating when the victim thinks you are the actual scammer. . I saw a video the other day by another baiter from the UK where they had a british female scamming with the indian scammers typing on a notepad to tell her what to say as they listened in on the call. That was pretty disturbing but I guess some people have no morals. I assume the glitter bomb will be for UK / US money mules as if sent to india they'll just pull the package apart , reprogram the phones and sell them. Apart from that the battery would be flat not to mention the phone probably wouldn't roam on their network too easily.

Any chance on taking down the Amazon review scammers?

just found your YT channel, you are amazing. Please keep crushing these scammers.

I bow to your civil courage. You make this world a better place.

I SO wish you would Memsys these guys... break their system!

not only india, but the UK and the US as well, since many times the police won't even investigate those crimes, or the people receiving thousands of cash via mail, because the victims are not the ones reaching them.

Great work Jim! Keep up the good work and Happy new year to you.

You are a absolute hero but what are the authorities doing to stop this? I love supporting you but this should not have to be dealt with by a civilian. We need to put political pressure on India to act on this.

Great work Jim. This looks like the same kind of scam from a video you posted in July where a U.K. woman was impersonating Lynne Owens. In that video you said the police were investigating her and you’d post some more videos of her. Any updates on the police investigation and when will you post more videos of her? I was blown away by that video that the scammers had someone that was in the U.K. and had a U.K. accent scamming people . Also it was crazy that the scammers in India were typing cheat notes for her on the notepad of what to say when the victim got very suspicious. I’m really interested in how this turned out as she is pure evil. Please please give us an update as I don’t see too many scammers with a legit accent and not in India doing these scams. THANKS JIM FOR ALL YOU DO!

Merry Christmas and all the very best for the new year Jim, I've had two of the Amazon prime robocalls this year and thanks to yourself and other scambbaiters I am very wise to these. I also had another one of the Openreach calls a three weeks ago, suffice to say I knew from the start what their game was.

People who do this kind of thing have no morals or empathy, they use their robocalls to prey on anybody uninformed, even if it means stealing from the elderly and/or other vulnerable people. Keep up the great work of stopping these people, Jim.

george2781

Watching the vulnerable be preyed upon boils my blood. Thankfully people like yourself remain determined and more importantly proactive and continue to save the few you can reach. Thank you

Mike

keep up the great work

All of the above, well done, great work, keep going Jim,x

Great work, as always! Keep it up!

Well done M8, more great work, keep it up, lets hope the Indian police do something, however I have my doubts they give a damn about these scams.

As always, you are doing amazing work, Jim!

Alvin the Chipmunk

Thank you so much! I've worked in the financial fraud sector for over a decade and getting the victim to believe they've been scammed is the hardest thing still to this day. It's so emotional and such a hard wall to break through. You're a damn hero.

If it was easy to fix it would have been fixed a long time ago.

Ryan Hamm

Great work Jim. Isn't there a way that lawyers can make sure banks and money transfer places understand these scams? And that for any bank that allows their customers to get scammed, those banks are liable for damages? This seems like an easy problem to fix with a little training. How about they block transfers for their customers over age 50 unless they watch a 5 minute scam explanation video. Then they get their privileges back to transfer money. Something simple like that would save their customers so much heartache.

scott kochman

Keep it up Jim!

Right? I don't know why victims becomes so afraid and glued to the computer instead of shutting everything down (both software and hardware) immediately and alerting their security agencies!!

Great job Jim!! It is sad that the local Indian police would not do anything. You are likely to experience the same or worst scenarios in developing or 3rd world countries where the local police forces are as corrupt as these scammers!! I would suggest, for the future effectiveness of your efforts that will lead to positive results (punitive and serving as a deterrent), you may need to plan to feed your collected info to the FBI. Thanks for all your efforts.

Thank you for all your work. Keep going for the good of mankind. Goodness prevails over evil.

That woman who was scolding at the victim.... geez. Victims need to be educated about this more than ever. If they (the scammers) were law enforcement, they wouldn't have scolded her like that. Keep fighting the good fight, Jim.

rtamayo88

Well done; another excellent video. Thank you for all your hard work!

Ivko Cvejic

Great idea

I am so happy I found you and I'm glad to support you (the little I can) because you are awesome in your work to explain and expose these idiots.

Andreas Hedberg

No, the actual collab video is still pending for probably some month. Here there was only a shout out.

Dragendave

That Woman From MOZO sounds Like Nimmi S Kumar Back at It

Simon Keeling

Did I gloss over Mark? I remember him mentioning doing a video with you but I didn't see any sign of him in this. Anyways - great work as usual! 👍

Thanks for all you do!

Geronimo

Thanks Joseph. I'm sure there are a few happier people around... particularly this month - I've spent a fair bit of time stopping similar scams. I'm not flavor of the month in Kolkata at the moment :)

Jim Browning

I wish one day you find close relatives in their contacts in real time, while they are being scammed, and ring them all so they can drive quickly to the victim's place to shut down the pc, unplug the router, turn off the power, anything really. Damn they are awful human beings. Thank you for what you are doing.

Great work as ever, Jim. I wish the police over there would take your reports seriously. It's up to us to share in the meantime. Keep it up

I always get so irritated watching your great videos, can't imagine how irritated you get making them. I wish you could reach through the computer and slap them. Thank you again for your great service.

Randy Kovach

It's just as exciting for me... it should make a very interesting video.

Jim Browning

I feel really sorry for your Dad, but I'm glad you're looking out for you. Perhaps one day, these calls will be more rare than they are today.

Jim Browning

I wouldn't care about calling these people a mf... if you saw the devastation they create, being called names would be the least they would deserve.

Jim Browning

Thanks Stephanie... I think you'll enjoy Mark's channel too!

Jim Browning

Again.. I am so happy to support you... Even you are only able to save ONE person from losing their life savings, it is worth it... Keep doing what you do, and I'll continue to support you!

Joseph Brzezinski

Good as always happy to see the Patreon version!

Jim my heart sang when I heard you and Mark teamed up, I cannot think of a more powerful duo against these pricks than you two legends. I genuinely love your videos as I am an old Microsoft Engineer (a real one) and now I work for myself. Hope you had a great Christmas and here's hoping you excel further in 2021. I will keep supporting your awesome content. Happy New Year from one Belfast man to another :)

Corruption.

Thank you Jim for doing this incredible work. Sometimes the videos are so hard to watch, sometimes I'm leaning toward the screen saying "don't click on that!" Last year my dad sent a check to "Apple" for $140 for "tech support". When he told me, he couldn't remember where he sent it and what name it was written to. My brother spent 4 days solid changing account numbers and closing accounts and setting up alerts, and then we found out he received a "free" flashlight... for $50 shipping, and we had to do it all over again. It wasn't until I discovered your channel and other videos that I realized exactly how lucky we were that is was only a couple hundred dollars. It breaks my heart to think about it again now, but I'm glad you are helping people like my dad.

I think I helped someone that almost fell for this type of scam once..... I told the @$$hole off! It took every bit of professionalism in me to not call him a mf!

Hope Davis

Omgggg Jim what more can I say you are beyond amazing. I thank God that you exist and we need more of you. I will subscribe to Mark Rober channel and again Jim thankyou so very much ❤️

Stephanie Humphries

Thanks Mochi... with a bit more exposure, I'm hoping that some of these organisations might be forced to pack up.

Jim Browning

Thank you Natalia.

Jim Browning

I'll keep pushing. Perhaps getting the media involved once again may help. Kolkata needs to do something about this problem.

Jim Browning

I agree that if I can do this, any agencies could do similar. I'm working with a small business to try to deal with robocalls and perhaps divert them to a system which will keep them occupied longer than usual.

Jim Browning

Amazing stuff. Way to stick with it. What do you think keeps the Indian Police from following up on any leads? You’ve proven to be fruitful in taking down some scam locations by now yea? They should know you are credible

I find it incredible too. But it's all a numbers game. If you make thousands of phone calls, you'll eventually find someone vulnerable enough to believe these stories.

Jim Browning

I have an even bigger exposé of this sort of scam, but I have to let the police in the UK do their bit first. All will be revealed shortly.

Jim Browning

You're very welcome Mr Cods.

Jim Browning

Thanks Sarah. I'm not sure about superhero, but I hope it leads to fewer scam calls.

Jim Browning

Should be interesting I hope... it's pretty amazing where the money leads.

Jim Browning

It's a horrible scam indeed. Let's hope the Kolkata police sit and take notice. They'll get a link to this version because it's unblurred.

Jim Browning

Jim you're doing great work. I only wished law enforcement on the other side would cooperate. Don't let this discourage you.

Rev Me Bro

How do you deal with this much stress! Western governments need to develop an entire agencies doing this type of stuff. Source countries clearly have no incentive to crack down - they want the cash to keep flowing into their economies.

Jesus Christ this is crazy! People are giving away their personal IDs to anyone who claims to be law enforcement on the phone? Keep up the work hopefully we can raise enough awareness to put these scammers out of business!

Akilan Narayanaswamy

Again thank you for the excellent educational content exposing these crooks.

Roddy Reavis

Superhero of the Internet Jim ,keep up the good work its amazing ♡

Sarah Johnson

Thanks Jim

Thank you for what you do.. Another amazing video.. I can't wait to see what you and Mark put out.. Already watched his latest glitter bomb and was hoping your combined efforts would be shown soon!!!!

Steve Jones

Thank you Jim for making world a better place! 💚

This is heartbreaking. Thank you for your work.

This is painful to watch. It’s disgraceful what lengths these scammers will go through to con us. I truly hope they will get punished. Thank you for raising this scam Jim.
