You might try CCleaner's registry fix, but I'm not sure it will fix what you've described. You might be better booting from a memory pen (Google windows PE - for preinstall environment), then copying the necessary documents somewhere else.

I watched your vid for making changes with regedit to the register, to make some files look more run of the mill and less suspicious. Stupidly, I went back to this later and, because I have probs with permissions on my computer - long story where I was given a deceased persons computer and that person had put a pasword on the computer that cannot be changed. This includes not being able to change user privelleges. Anyway, I thought I would try to change the privelleges on regedit insteead (I had previously tried everything else short of reformatting) but needless to say it did not work and now (because of the changes I made and cannot find again, my windows key/start button will not work, along with various other keys. I have been meaning to reformat the computer but kept putting it off due to needing to save loads of pics without any storage device. Can I ask, do you know of any free registry-fix apps? Great work btw. Good luck for the year to come with your up and coming projects. PS sorry if you noticed the many edits to this post I was finding it hard to make it understandable.

And I always leave a comment on your videos saying pretty much the same thing, and ill say it again, Jim, you sir, are a saint. We need people like you in every major city. Keep up the good fight! This is truly some of the most honorable use of time anyone can do these days. You do some of the best straight forward videos about catching scammers. There's other people doing this stuff, but Jim takes it to a whole new level. People like kitboga just try to waste thier time, you sir, go in further and do your best to make sure they pay for thier crimes. That's why I'm a patron of yours, and all ill give kitboga is the occasional twitch prime sub. Becuase you actually followthru and try to make sure that the victims get justice for the crimes perpetrated against them. So again, you sir, are a saint, a godsend. I think more whitehats should focus on these horrible people.

I usually take the slow, information gathering route... I'd rather that the appropriate authorities take action. Destroying a computer's files are their tactics... Not mine. Besides, you can rebuild a PC in 30 mins and continue scamming. That isn't so easy if someone has published all of your details and got in touch with your victims.
